Drug induced Parkinsonism
Anyone have experience with drug induced
Parkinsonism
? I’ve been on high doses of Zoloft for years but my doctor says it can’t be the cause because my symptoms are asymmetric. I have found several studies that found the rate of asymmetry in DIP is around 20%. Any suggestions appreciated.

Mannitol advice please
I have been struggling for months to get hold of mannitol and at last I have been given a huge free sample. How much should I take? I believe it can cause gastric issues, should I start slowly? Is it like Xylotol? Could I use it as a sugar substitute in cooking ( I make almond flour and egg biscuits

Colonisation of pseudomonas non CF bronchiectasis
I have been reading up about garlic oil and how the ingredient ajoene can disrupt the biofilm of the mucoid pseudomonas bacteria. i am interested in nebulising garlic oil but i am not sure if it's safe or how to go about it. Has anyone else heard about the wonders of garlic in the killing of mucoid

Immune-suppressing drugs linked to lower risk of Parkinson’s disease
A new study suggests that the drugs for Auto-immune diseases which mainly target the aggressiveness of Immune system to reduce may have a link to PD vanishing and play a role . “It’s a reasonable assumption that if a drug reduces the risk of getting Parkinson’s, it also will slow disease progression

MOLECULAR HYDROGEN: A preventive and therapeutic medical gas for various diseases.
This is exciting research, most supplements cannot pass the blood brain barrier, hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the universe and can even repair mitochondria! It's safe, it's cheap and it's effective. Drinking hydrogen enriched water (HW) reduced dopaminergic neuron loss in a mouse model of Parkinson's

Just Starting Out
Hi all I'm new here, I have been diagnosed around 6 months now (just before my 60th birthday), It is very mild & confined to left side, as I'm right handed I probably wouldn't have noticed yet but I'm a saxophone player & my left fingers started to drag when playing & practice seemed to make it worse

Turmeric or Curcumin?
Hi all I’ve read a few posts about the benefits of turmeric but like everything else choosing the right one and way to take it is a minefield! I’ve been taking the ground spice in coconut oil and adding black pepper to aid absorption. I don’t want to be wasting my time if there’s a better alternative

Oregon Health & Sciences University research project might have found the first treatment to slow or stop progression of Parkinson's disease
The Portland institution is one of six places that has quietly tested a new drug that shows the potential to pinpoint the cause of Parkinson's, which has eluded researchers for 200 years. OHSU now wants people newly diagnosed with Parkinson's who are interested in being part of a clinical trial. Patients

Parkinson’s
Hi, I have had Parkinson’s for about three years. I have tried so many medicines but they have not given me respite. In February I was in Cambodia when I ran out of my meds. In Cambodia I found Sinemet, this seemed to give me total rest of all my symptoms. Sadly when I got home, I was not able to find

Parkinsons Commercial
I hate the lastest commercial about Parkinsons Disease. My husband was diagnosed 2 years ago and the meds have been working for him with the tremors.. Seeing commercials like this are depressing for him and I am sure others with this horrible disease. You don't see other commercials about other diseases

Everyone reads SoPD; Radotinib 3.3 times more in the brain than Nilotinib
https://scienceofparkinsons.com/2018/06/17/radotinib/ But as Karen Rafael (Member of Parkinson's Research Interest Group (on Facebook)) "Don't you just love it when Simon has so much exciting news to share??!! One drug in clinical trials, another likely to head that way."
