Flare ir something else
I had a minor flare 3 weeks ago and took 7mg for 8 days and felt completely well so reduced down to my 5mg which I’ve been on for about 3 months because of unsuccessfully trying to reduce to 4.5.mg. I’ve continued to feel well on 5mg however yesterday I woke up with some pain in both triceps. It

5 days post pacemaker battery change pain
hi, just wondering what others experiences are with pain/ discomfort post pacemaker battery change? how long did it take to get to fully normal again ? Looking at the patient information it as though it suggests this is a walk in the park and should be fully up and running again a few days later.

should I increase my Pred once again?
I’ve been on Prednisolone for GCA for almost 4 years, I’ve managed to get down to 5 mgs daily three times in recent times before a flare meant yet another increase yet again. This time I was down to 7mgs a day before I took a tumble 10 days ago and fell hard on to my bottom. I’ve been in a great

Arm pain after angiogram
I had my angiogram using the radial artery on Thursday 5/1. Its now been over 72 hours and I am experiencing pain in my arm from the elbow upwards. Taking paracetamol but any relief is very temporary. Is this common?

Liver Stent/Tips
Hi, I had a tips in May 2022, within 6 weeks it failed and I had urgent surgery to correct it in July 2022. I've been told my new TIPS is very big. Since then I have felt absolutely amazing. However, past week I've had a build up of ascities - not huge but enough to see my weight increase by 7lbs. I

Which pain killer
Which pain killer is the best to use? Paracetamol doesn't seem to work very well. My hips have been hurting a fair bit. I'm tapping down and my body doesn't like it much!

A long post - How medication was ruining my life, not making me better! Reassurance for anyone concerned about stopping medication.
Hi ladies. A very Happy New Year to you all! I am hoping that 2023 treats you all with improved health and a wealth of happiness. I have seen a lot of posts recently appearing on my feed regarding treatments and hormones, and so I just wanted to share my recent experience of stopping all treatments.

14 Days Post Circumcision
That’s me now 14 days post surgery, and I thought I would share some of my experience of the journey that is adult male circumcision. For a number of months, I had been suffering with phimosis and balanitis, and at times, it really was suffering! It wasn’t just the physical symptoms, but the emotional

Covid, continuous dry cough causing sleep loss and what to do next?
Tested positive for Covid 3 days ago after previous 3 days of cold/ flu like symptoms. Temperature (38°C for one day) and deadly sore throat now gone. Continuous dry cough remains. Kept me awake for last 5 nights. Diaphragm now aching and painful when I cough. Tried all sorts - hot honey and lemon drinks

New Year , and I've Come Down With Strep. Here's Some Info if You Suspect It and Need to Get Tested Safely
So a New Year begins , but rather than hitting the ground running I've hit it with a thud. We had guests for the first Christmas since COVID and one of them had a nasty cough. My OH came down with symptoms a week ago and then I got the tell tale signs a few days ago. So , we contacted the GP surgery

Can you relate?
I’ve just signed up and written my bio, and wondered if there were ppl here that can relate? I’ll copy and paste it below :) From when I started my period the pain levels were beyond anything anybody I met or spoke with had experienced. Every month I have to take each day I’m on my period: 3,200mg

Chest infection and Pred
I had covid with a bad dry cough and heavy cold at the end of November and made a good recovery. Didn't effect my pmr. On 3mg. On 28th December, probably due to doing far too much over Christmas, I started a chest infection from hell. Heavy chesty phlemy cough but bringing up clear sputum

Still not running 😐
So, a few people have asked how I am and if I'm feeling better.Thank you . Basically the answer I'm afraid is no ! Some will know as I have mentioned it before but I have suffered with sinus problems pretty much all of my adult life (And that's quite some time 😐) This particular episode started on 27th

I guess that I Just Can't Win!
Dear All, I have Avoided COVID, despite several 'Folk' in my Flats catching it. I also Avoided it, at my Mothers Flats too...... and have remained Covid Negative, ever since. Unfortunately I have a 'Dreadful Cold', you know, a Real STINK.ER- currently it's 3:25AM and I'm Sipping 'Hot Lemon, with Honey
