Recieved rheumatologist letter and conclusion
He reported that the introduction of Pred at 15mg was no more than an effective
pain
killer and also the reason why I could not successfully taper down from 15mg. The fact that my inflammatory markers have not changed also indicates that this was never PMR.

safe painkiller use with tinnitus?
my question is apart from paracetamol which
pain
killer can I use without risking exacerbating tinnitus? I have an old injury that flares up now and again. I used to control it with ibuprofen but I understand ibuprofen is an ototoxic drug and to be avoided for those with tinnitus.

Pain and frustration 😟
I have no shoulder or arm
pain
and was beginning to feel like I’ve finally cracked the 5mg barrier(third time lucky). I’ve had PMR for 2years and 9 months. However, my legs feel in constant
pain
and I don’t feel that I can walk far.

is this PMR
However much
pain
& stiffness I was in he always ruled out PMR as I did not have every single symptom, my tapering was never altered in the 2 years. Every day now I wake up to stiffness in fingers, buttocks, thighs.,lower back, neck.

Why don’t my Family understand what Fibro does to me?
So sent to
Pain
clinic for assessment - given Painkillers, as the
pain
was quite bad by now Tramadol! Some relief for a few weeks, then it gradually came back, higher dose………. This became a cycle, later came Butrans patches….. the cycle happened again.

40+ years of Exhausting Fibro!!
It has now got to the point where, coupled with all the other stressful stuff going on in my life, I just can't take it any more. 40+ years is a long time but this extreme
pain
/tingling etc. just takes the biscuit. Has anyone got any idea what I can do for the 24/7
pain
/tingling please?

Hypo symptoms but doctors unsympathetic
For the last 18 months I have been struggling with
pain
in my neck/throat, left hand side, centred on thyroid area but radiates up into throat even ears and down into chest, so it has been hard to locate.

Osteopenia?
I've got a constant mild
pain
on the underside of both patellas. Is this related to osteopenia? My 40-year weightlifting history tells me a little
pain
is a good thing. It's only a problem if I need
pain
pills to be able to work out.

endo help, don’t know what to do.
Lower back
pain
,
pain
in my abdomen and pelvic region, I get the worst aching
pain
in my legs and recently have started bleeding with bowel movements. I’m often constipated so put the last symptom down to that, but now I’m not sure!

maybe not PMR!
I feel relieved to be seen by a consultant and today having the first relatively
pain
free day in months. My physio ( private) is also a godsend i must say- each week unlocking muscles and tendons that would otherwise cripple me! So the jouney continues!! Thank you all for your support.

nausea and vomiting
I get nausea with bloating and
pain
regularly, but never vomited…. I often wonder if it will happen, occasionally getting that salivating sensation, or if the nausea is just a symptom of the endo or the
pain
killers (naproxen/amitriptyline). Do any of you ever actually vomit during a flare up?

Three weeks after open heart surgery
In the morning I feel sore and struggle to get out of bed, in the evening I have a painful
pain
across my left breast, ribs and down my back and continues even after taking painkillers.

Naproxen and sleep - too much?
Hi, I have recently tried taking Naproxen as I am in a lot of
pain
with an arthritic knee (knee replacement later this year) plus general aches and found that other painkillers weren't really helping (Ibuprofen, co-codamol) .

Tips for explaining chronic pain to family?
I was trying to defend myself as they questioned everything: my diagnoses, symptoms, doctors,
pain
itself, etc. :( The whole thing was really sad, so I’m wondering if anyone here has any tips (or good resources to send to people) so that they might better understand chronic
pain
, treatment for it, etc
