Did I cause my PA?
So! I was visiting my doctor yesterday and voiced my concerns about gabapentin as he wants me to up the dose as says I can have up to 3000 mgs aday. I'm resistant having read what I have on the F/B gabapentin page. I told him I preferred to take daily b12 injections to treat my PA than take more painkillers

Well, the BIG news is that I did NOT slip a disc. The doc said I severely strained the muscles from my knees all the way to my lower back. The pain is almost the same as a slipped disc, but the timescale dramatically different. She said it could take 4-6 weeks. And if I didn’t feel noticeably better

Fluid at back of eye
Hello everyone, I have advanced glaucoma in both eyes only diagnosed six months ago after a very late eye test at the opticians, and use monopost once a day. My left eye is the weakest by far and I have lost some central vision. I have fluid at the back of this eye and was told it looked like diabetic

I have just reduced prednisolone to the second stage 50mg. Headaches are not to bad but still there at times. Can I take painkillers, if so which ones. The pains are normally in the temple and forehead areas.

Alternative to ibuprofen
I'm 6 months post sct but my platelets are taking a long time to recover( only c40) so I'm not allowed ibuprofen or aspirin. I use paracetamol for most pain however I sometimes get muscle spasms in my neck/shoulder which I found ibuprofen treated. Does anyone know of an alternative painkiller that

ibuprofen gel
Currently unable to contact a pharmacist or doctor. Does anyone know of a topical pain killer gel I can take whilst on anticoagulants? Apparently, ibuprofen gel is a no-no. Thanks Thanks everyone, pharmacist confirmed I can use Deep Heat, Heat Patches and or, paracetamol.

ear admin thank you for letting me join this IBS site as it may help my husband to understand it, and me too. So about 3 months my husband was diagnosed by a doctor over the phone, and also to see a doctor at the surgery as he had been having tummy troubles. My husband has been prescribed Mebeverine

Wife's in Chronic pain.
Wife is bed bound with an ongoing degenerative spine condition which is causing chronic pain. Our doctors will not subscribe the only effective pain killer which is Fentinol Patches. Other patients in our area whom are in less pain are prescribed patches so we feel really upset with Doctors actions

Sudden painful lymphnode on neck
Hi all,I have been on W&W for a couple of years now and all good for now in terms of b symptoms with only slight enlarged lymphnodes. when to call your neurologist
I recently started seeing a new neurologist this year. Since then I’ve had a flare up of eye problems. I have been having severe double vision and eye pain. I contacted my neurologist a few months ago and they (the Pa) ordered a 3 day round of steroids which didn’t help at all. I called them back and

wheat in cosmetics
I’m recently diagnosed with coeliac disease. I’m following a gluten free diet but have noticed that a product I bought to promote hair growth contains wheat germ amongst many other ingredients. As this product needs to be massaged into the scalp should I not use it?

How to increase scarring after trabeculectomy
My husband (30m) had a trabeculectomy in his left eye in August 2023. It is now November 2023 and the IOP is only up to 7. His vision in that eye has never recovered (it does temporarily if he does something a little strenuous like walking up a steep hill). The consultant has said that to prevent

Oral care tip
Just to share in case it helps someone: My mother has very advanced disease and her tongue doesn’t move well; she has difficulty swallowing and her mouth is usually open, so she mouth-breathes all day. She is immobile and nonverbal and stays in a care facility. On her last trip to the dentist (a caregiver
