Sudden painful lymphnode on neck

Hi all,I have been on W&W for a couple of years now and all good for now in terms of b symptoms with only slight enlarged lymphnodes. However, a few days ago a lymphnode on the left side of my neck has suddenly enlarged and become extremely painful- I cannot even touch it. Could this be CLL related or some kind of an infection? I am puzzled why only that one lymphnode...I feel fine otherwise, no symptoms of a virus, flu, etc... I am taking painkillers but it does not seem to help with the pain on my neck just wondering what could be causing this. My CLL specialist is on holiday. Many thanks for any thoughts or similar experiences!

Titian 72, I can only speak to my experience. I was told by Emergency room mds that my painful groin node was due to an infection. I also had no other symptoms. Antibiotics did clear it up. Good luck! Diana

In general lymph nodes that hurt are due to an infection. Leukemia lymph nodes may hurt if pressing upon a nerve, otherwise they can get pretty big and not be painful at all.
