Fluid at back of eye

Hello everyone, I have advanced glaucoma in both eyes only diagnosed six months ago after a very late eye test at the opticians, and use monopost once a day. My left eye is the weakest by far and I have lost some central vision. I have fluid at the back of this eye and was told it looked like diabetic damage. I am not diabetic though I had a very low pre diabetes HbA1c result (42) at an NHS health check a year ago. I have since lost two stone and changed my diet and exercised more so my reading now is about 35, so well within the healthy range. My pressures have remained at 18 left eye and 19 right eye down from about 24 in both eyes when I was first diagnosed. As I have thin corneas I was originally told this would add an additional 6 points to each eye. At my first appointment at a specialist eye clinic last week the doctor said they would monitor me closely and may add different eye drops if the pressure doesn't drop soon. I was referred to the eye clinic as my previous two appointments at the local hospital were very much delayed because of the number of patients to be seen. My question is has anyone else been told they have fluid at the back of their eye and what was the outcome. Thank you for reading.

Hi,yes I have fluid at the back of my left eye,it was diagnosed three years ago,I have closed angle glaucoma.i have lost my peripheral vision in my left eye and I have been having eye injections regularly for three years to try and keep the fluid at bay.it is not a pleasant thing to have done but you do get used to it and the actual eye injection only takes a few minutes to do.

Thank you for replying 135red, I hadn't been able to find answers on the internet and thought I must be very odd! :). Guess I should have asked more at my appointment but was a bit overwhelmed. I'll take a written list of questions next time.

Yes do that, the doctors are so busy they do r offer any information unless you ask them I've realised now that you have to write your questions down, let them do there job, then ask questions at the end
