Low potassium and magnesium
I’m halfway through a Pace and Ablate procedure,
Pacemaker
placed on June 30th. My recovery was going well until yesterday when I got a phone call from my GP to say that my routine blood test showed low Potassium and Magnesium and to go straight to A&E.

Pace and Ablate
Good morning on this beautiful day, Friday had my AV node ablated and
pacemaker
set on 80 to 120 beats. Stopped Bisoprolol (Yipeeee) so should start to feel my energy levels returning. Had sedation and local and when it was time I had a 'Gin & Tonic' into my canular.

Heart Failure diagnosis and pacemaker/ICD
As of 3 days ago, it was 20 and was therefore yesterday given a
pacemaker
and ICD. Does anyone have any experience of this. Ideally with heart failure and a similar EF since I understand that heart failure will only get worst. Thank you

Reasonable adjustment at work
I can tolerate up to 26 degrees, anything above I'm really struggling - my
pacemaker
is ticking much louder than usual (hate the feeling!), I find difficult to breathe comfortably, I feel lethargic and strangely enough I almost don't pee despite taking water tablets.

New pacemaker and driving/riding
I was wondering what people's experiences have been when informing DVLA about their
pacemaker
? Any restrictions? Have your insurance premiums changed? I haven't called yet as I'm not driving anyway post op and yet to be seen in pacing clinic. I remain hopeful they will remove it but we will see...

What does Afib feel like
What I feel now is very different to what I felt prior to my diagnosis and
pacemaker
fitted. My heart rate and ecg when checked has been fine, at
pacemaker
clinic they said I'd had 2 small episodes of Afib, which I didn't feel.

Ablation under sedation? Had really bad experience with pacemaker insertion and sedation.
The insertion of a dual-chamber
pacemaker
under sedation a year ago has left me pretty shaken and I am very apprehensive about the next procedure in three weeks' time!

Edoxaban or Apixaban.
Monday afternoon back to the Royal Cornwall for a veinogram - which I'm glad to say showed no clots, only some stenosis around the leads from my
pacemaker
. So now I have the choice of either staying on Apixaban 5mg morning and evening or reverting to my once a day Edoxaban.

Keeping AF at bay
In my upper 70's have had Mitral valve repair and 2 cardioversions plus
pacemaker
;on maximum doses of sotalol, amias, furosemide; in general holding Afib at bay but occasional relapses with pulse rate in 120's. Episodes occur about once a month without any apparent associated reasons.

Heart Issues but otherwise healthy
I am fairly active even though I have an artificial heart valve and a
pacemaker
. I try to stay healthy by eating the right foods and limiting vitamin K to keep my INR stable but every now and then, I have a question about diet and INR results.

THE IKEA TEST?
Early next month I am listed for the insertion of a Bi-ventricular
Pacemaker
and follow up Av node Ablation. As I shuffled round I thought back to the conversation I'd had with the Orthopaedic Guy all those years ago.
