I tested positive for covid Thursday , my gp checked me over Friday as I have been getting an achy dull pain down my left side , he said one of my lungs sounded quieter and asked if there had ever been any mention of fluid on my lung , it was mentioned a while ago but that’s all . He prescribed Clarithromycin for 10 days , I have a pacemaker and I’m recovering from pericarditis and an effusion , I’m still on colchicine and have read about not taking the antibiotic and colchicine .

Hi Westie if you are unsure about taking them please phone the NHS helpline and get medical advice, better to safe. Hope this helps let us know how you get on have a good night and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
Your gp should have known whether you are safe to take combined medications that you are on.If you have concerns the best person to discuss this with is your chemist who will know about contraindications of medicines.
Hope you feeling better soon.
Sorry to hear that you have tested positive. I think, as Bevvy said, that the best way to check whether your combination of medications is safe to to is to speak to your chemist in the morning. Hope you will soon be feeling better.
You could check with the pharmacist regarding taking the medications together or call the blf helpline for advice, 03000 030555 uk office hours. Good luck P
