In my upper 70's have had Mitral valve repair and 2 cardioversions plus pacemaker;on maximum doses of sotalol, amias, furosemide; in general holding Afib at bay but occasional relapses with pulse rate in 120's. Episodes occur about once a month without any apparent associated reasons. Episodes last about 24h. As on maximum doses of meds. desperate to keep AF at bay. No apparent answers from GP or cardio. Can anybody offer any insights?

Wish we could be that’s AF. My first episodes were years apart. I tried everything, looking at triggers - improved my Lifestyle ie: sleep, stress management, diet and exercise, meditation, yoga all helped and when not in AF I felt great but AF slowly and surely progressed. Age is a big factor - I was diagnosed at 56 but had episodes for years prior.
You seem to have a low HR with your AF - guess that’s the Sotolol so as long as you are not experiencing symptoms and AF is occasional and you take anticoagulants which you didn’t mention ?? there is not much I could suggest.
Do you see an Electrophysiologist or a Cardiologist and what was their advice?
Best wishes CD
Have you been referred to see an Electrophysiologist EP?
