My doctor said that my body would have cure this disease by itself . Now when it was discovered in time so I dont need to worry about it cause Im having chemo. They dont give me avastin. Maybe here is woman with same situation?

About me
Hi For the last 3yrs I have been meeting with the remarkable Manchester W&M group and thought that it was high time I joined the Macular Society! I was diagnosed at St Paul's Eye Research Unit at the Royal Liverpool Hospital with choroidal melanoma (eye cancer) in 1994 after being under frequent observation

No more avastin?
Hi ladies. I met with my surgeon for post op meeting and he said I may not be given any more avastin. I've had 2 out of 18. I asked why and he said my oncologist will decide ( without answering my question as to why) I'm worried now. Is this a good thing or bad thing? Has anyone else had their avastin

Post op results. Feeling so low.
Hi all. I feel really low after my meeting. I wasn't given devastating news, guess just the reality that this disease doesn't go away. My surgeon got my tumours out after I had an excellent response to chemo. He told me today that I have microscopic clusters of cancer cells left in me. I'm due three

Doxil & Avastin treatment
Hi ladies, I have a question that I hope y'all can help me with. I am now platinum resistant with this recurrence and my oncologist is putting me on the Doxil with Avastin. Has anyone else gone through this treatment and what can I expect? What kind of side effects? I am hoping that I will be able to

Good morning everyone, I have just finished 6 sessions of carbo/taxol (the last 4 with avastin) and have a further 14 sessions of avastin ahead of me. Every time I had chemo, I developed a UTI, for which I was prescribed anti-biotics. I now find that I have an extremely weak bladder, and need to have

Jenni's Journey
[Jenni is a young friend of mine. She doesn't have an MPN, but she has a message. It meant a great deal to me, as I hope it will to you. She has suffered terribly with stage 4 ovarian cancer...twice. Hi all. I was feeling very positive lately. I had an excellent response to chemo and just after three cycles was told that there's hardly any disease left. I will still have surgery and three more chemos to mop up and 16 more cycles of avastin. Then I look online. I shouldn't. It said on one site

in remission
I am so happy to be in remission after 1 1/2 years of debilitating chemo. It has been 11 months now, and I am on Avastin every 3 weeks. I am hoping this will be permanent, but one just never knows. I am new to this community!
