Question
Hi my mil diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian she is currently on avastin. Her ca125 slowly rising currently 50. She developed 9 red hard sore lumps on body hip, buttock, neck and ankle. Went to dermatologist had them biopsied!! Can this be a side effect of avastin or had it spread to skin????

CA125 503 to 493
Should I feel discouraged as now the oncologist has reduced the dose my CA125 has only fallen 10 points. I have also stopped the day 8 gem. I had the first 3 sessions at the top dose and it went from 1058 to 503 but now it does not seem to be making any headway. What happens if it doesn't fall much further

In the news: Avastin first biologic backed in EU for resistant ovarian cancer
Good news about Avastin, however it will be some time before this indication appears on the Cancer Drugs Fund listing. re car insurance
Hi everyone, I am just wondering whether you tell your car insurance company if you are on Avastin long term or does it arise. In the past I have discussed the matter of notifying my insurers about my illness with my gp. His attitude was you take a practical approach and dont drive if you arent feeling

The little b******s have got me again!
Just when I was having a lovely summer an beginning to think remission would go on and on. After two and a half years it felt like the status quo. So second line coming up. GemCarbo this time with Avastin. Last time I had Carbotaxol and it gave me such excrutiating leg pain I got the taxol dose reduced

Summer Weather,
Hi everybody, we have all gone so quiet in this lovely weather and I hope all of you are able to enjoy it. I would normally tolerate heat fairly ok but at the moment find it more difficult. I am wondering if any of you on Avastin feel the same as me. I have returned to work doing shorter hours. Last

Is anyone on Avastin with high blood pressure - does the bp eventually level out or keep going up and if so how quickly?
My mum has been put on Avastin after 6 months of chemo - her bp seems sto be rising very quickly and just wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I rather hoped she would be on Avastin for quite some time yet. She was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in 2010 and has just completed her second

Is avastin given in the UK for longer than 12 months ?
My oncologist has said that I will finish my 3 weekly avastin treatment after a year but I have heard from people in the US who have been on it longer. Does anyone know if that happens here ?

About to start taxol + carboplatin + avastin...
Next week and getting a bit anxious about side effects. Am based in Hong Kong so the regimen may be different from you all. Has anyone had all three drugs together? It will be taxol carboplatin and avastin every three weeks, and taxol every week. Has anyone got similar experience?

Has anyone else had this?
I've read all your posts for going on two years now. Some of them are truly inspiring. I've never contributed until now. My wife Ingrid was diagnosed with grade IIIc 3 1/2 years ago. At that time they gave her "months". Her cancer is low grade, but her tumours are calcifying i.e. turning to bone. They
