Feeling low -Is it the time of year??
Hello all After feeling quite smug that I had retained a positive outlook I am now in the doldrums...........I'm due to have 5th chemo in second line next Thursday (22nd) and I know that I will be feeling rubbish over the Christmas period - this chemo (Carbo/Cyclophosphamide + Avastin) is knocking me

Why do they stop Avastin?
Hi, I am currently about to have session 16 Avastin treatment following the usual carboplatin/ paclitaxol regime which included debulking surgery half way through. My CA125 has remained normal so presumably the Avastin is working so why will it be stopped after 18 treatments? Will this not just allow

Seonoma/cysts after surgery. What has been your experience?
I have had chemo, surgery and Avastin and emerged as NED. My last CA125 in October was 11. However my CT scan revealed a large fluid filled cyst which has increased since surgery and I was summoned back to the hospital to have it aspirated. The fluid was like a fine white wine in colour. I understand

Stage IV cancer recurrence
I was NED from February to September although my CA125 was rising from 15 to 559. In December my PET scan came back showing that the cancer has returned. I will be starting Cisplatin and Gemzar along with the avastin that have been on. Is this just a waste time of time ? Do I really have a chance ?

Just got back from seeing the Oncologist for my PET scan results. Nothing to see!! except a very small blood clot on the lung, which in turn means 6 months of injections to disperse it! Because I am on Avastin I can only have a low dose as anything more would interfere with the Avastin hence the 6 months

Secondline treatment with Avastin/Doxil
Hello! I'm just starting secondline treatment consisting of Avastin/Doxil for 6 rounds. I will have Avastin/Doxil on day 1 and Avastin on day 15 for 6 months. I'm curious at what point the PPE might rear it's head. Do you only need to be super cautious for the first 5 days after treatment and then

Avastin and clinical trial
I have had significant painful neuropathy in my feet since I finished the chemo portion of my clinical trial (icon8b) and have been on the avastin alone. I had a short break to see if that would help. It did for a little while. I am on Cymbalta and Lyrica and capsicum cream and physio and acupuncture

Flu jab.
Yesterday I had my fourth cycle of chemo and avastin. I was advised by the chemo nurse to get a flu jab. I phoned my doctors surgery this morning and they said they're so sorry but I'm not eligible. I need to get it done at a chemists. It's not the money I'm bothered about but the principle. Surely

Make the days count....
I've had a tough day as started my second line chemo today. I'm back on same carbo/taxol and have felt low all day. First time I was so buoyant & went through everything with ease. I was on a mission to prove I would be cured, my oncologist always said long term control but I didn't want that! He has

High grade serous adencarcinoma
Last week I saw my doctor and he said I am in complete remission but will still need the three more chemos and most of next year on avastin. I was feeling quite happy about this. I've never wanted to know the grade of my ovarian cancer but received a letter today giving the histology results and that

Thoughts On Avastin
Today I had cycle 6 of 6 taxol/carbo having been diagnosed with stage 4a OC in June this year. I had surgery in Oct. My response to both has been excellent and today I feel healthy and energetic. My medical team are very encouraged by my response and don't think that at this time I could be any better

My Story
I was diagnosed with stage IV non-small cell adenocarcinoma of my lung in December of 2014 . The EGFR was exon 21, P.L 858R. I was diagnosed by going into cardiac tamponade with 870 ml of fluid. The fluid tested positive for the cancer and mutation. I had R supraclavicular, R paratracheal, subcarinal

Feeling positive.
Hi all. I've seen the doctor today. He said I'm doing really well. 👍🏻 I still need my three mop up chemos and a year on avastin but he said I'm in complete remission. Can hardly believe it. Just got to make sure the little gremlin doesn't rear its ugly head again. Xxxx

Elevated eosinophils at recurrence?
Hi, this is my first post, though I've been reading and visiting this site for a couple of months now. My mom has Ovarian cancer, Stage IV since August 2015, and finished her chemo in February, and has was stated to be NED, her CA-125 had dropped down to a 3, from a high of over 3,000 when first diagnosed

UTI's
Hi everyone, I thought I had posted a little while ago, but it seems to have got lost. Has anyone else had recurrent urine infections while on Avastin? These start (every time) 2 days after my treatment, and the GP is not going to keep giving me antibiotics. Now, the day of my scan results, I have woken

UTI's
Good morning everyone. Has anyone else had recurring UTI's while on Avastin? So far, 2 days after my treatment I develop an infection. It is not a case of needing to go to the loo frequently, I become completely incontinent, and have no control at all. Up to now, my GP has given me antibiotics which

Mastectomy on avastin
Hi guys, I am brca 1 and have decided to have a bilateral mastectomy as prevention to ever getting breast cancer. I am on avastin only after my chemo for oc stage 3c. I have just read that while on avastin the healing process takes longer. It's made me wonder if they will go ahead with this operation
