Hi everyone, so I finally went private after months and months of waiting on the NHS. I've been told by my new consultant that he thinks another laparoscopy should be performed, and he is likely to have space in his clinic in November. I have stage four endo with my bowel and uterus stuck together, so

Waiting times York gynaecologist?
Does anyone know waiting times for York gynaecologist referrals? I’ve struggled with endometriosis for 20years. In the last 5 years I’ve had lots of pain and problems with ovarian cysts. I also have Crohn’s disease and 13 years ago had part of bowel removed and a temporary stoma. Because of my previous

Drastically worse IBS-C/constipation for no apparent reason, after 19 years
Hi - I am posting to see if anyone has ever had a very sudden and drastic worsening in their symptoms of IBS-C/problems emptying the bowel? I have had IBS-C/constipation for nearly 20 years, and 10 years ago it got far worse after a surgery. Since that time it improved and has been consistent for

Does anyone have experience of an ACEs Stoma for chronic constipation?
Hi everyone, my daughter who’s nearly 7 is having an ACEs Stoma in 10 days to help manage her chronic constipation after a long slog of unsuccessful medications and hospitalisation… has anyone’s child had this operation? I know it’s the best way forward and will help her no end as the last few years

Some Positive News
I joined this group in Jan after a devastating Stage 4 OC diagnosis in Dec. 7 rounds of chemo, an emergemcy op (that resulted in a stoma), debaulking surgery (and stoma reversal) and Covid since then. And right now - I am in REMISSION! The days and nights were often so dark, had it not been for those

Both of us!
I had an emergency surgery in January and landed up with a stoma bag. Now my husband has been diagnosed with colonic cancer and will have an operation on 17 August. He has been advised that he might have a stoma bag afterwards. I have managed to get used to mine, but I find the thought of him having

Another update
All going on here I can tell you! So as you all know I had the emergency loop colostomy about 6 weeks ago. All was going well. Friday 2nd July had some low level stomach pain around 5pm and then the stoma prolapsed about 4 inches. Long story short, emergency op at local hospital for a refashioned stoma

Vegan diet with ileostomy for low methionine
Hi , Does anyone manage a vegan diet successfully with an ileostomy? I had chemo then radical debulking last October then chemo till January. I’m currently on 3 weekly Avastin but my Ca125 is increasing . There is evidence that methionine ( an amino acid in protein ) ‘ feeds the cancer’ . A low methionine

Update on previous post.
Update on previous post: so after comparing scans from April to recent it has grown quickly. Taken all by surprise and whether it was the Avastin that had been holding it back which was stopped in March they don't know. So we are where we are, unfortunately and I have to have chemo to stop it, reduce

Scared
Hello all, I am constantly scared and worried. I was diagnosed with radiation enteritis in April but I am too scared to eat anything (other than soup or yoghurt) as I really cannot deal with another bowel obstruction. I have 2 stomas (colostomy and an urostomy). The urostomy is fine but the colostomy

Emergency operation
So after the initial diagnosis in 2016 and the usual treatment, I'd had 4 1/2 years of ok health but continous and troublesome constipation. I was being regularly monitored and ct scans showing no problems. No one was concerned so I slept easy at night. I continued to take unsuccessfully in that time

Hi everyone
Well I thought nothing could be worse to experience than 2020. How wrong was I ☹️ I am 4 weeks post ostomy operation, after my hubby found me unconscious on bathroom floor. After a vast number of doctors and medics battled to keep me alive after crashing more than once, I was transferred to hospital
