Ibuprofen for pain - level of risk to kidney transplant
Greetings all, I am new to the forum and have a question about treating arthritis. I am 67 and had a kidney transplant back in 1999. I am in very good health except for experiencing moderate to severe arthritis pain, especially following exercise. Ibuprofen (200-400 mg dose) seems to be the only remedy

Yoga after kidney transplant
Hi! I’m a few months post kidney transplant and loving getting back into my yoga practice. Anyone been through this? How long did it take you to be able to lie on your stomach comfortably/without too much pain to do poses like cobra/seal? (I’m thin with a huge new kidney that sticks out!). And secondly

Do anyone need Hemodialysis Home Supplies?
Hi everyone, We are newly home from a liver and kidney transplant and have a large number of dialysis supplies that we no longer need. We had just ended our first week of home dialysis when we got the call for the transplant. The supplies are new and in unopened shipping boxes. I hate to see this go

The Transplant Journey update 2
Hello, I wanted to give you guys an update on my mothers lung transplant journey... Before reading, this is not intended to put any perspective lung transplant person off having a transplant. It is a factual view on what can happen after transplant. I am writing this as a means to manage the stress

2nd liver transplant?
Hello Im new to this forum. My question is has anyone had an experience with a 2nd liver transplant? My husband had a liver transplant but now after 18 months the bile ducts are plugged up and 2 transplant surgeons at reputable hospitals are stating that he will need another transplant in the near future

Studies about Biliary Atresia
It is known that neither Kasai procedure nor liver transplantation is a permanent cure of Biliary atresia. And medical treatment is also very limited (URSO, some antibiotic to prevent Colengetisis etc) and they are also not cure. Liver keeps suffering most of the time. I know first sentences may break

Roid Rage!
My husband had a kidney transplant 3 months ago and the past 3 months have been very difficult for me as a wife and caretaker because of his irritability and short temper, which I am attributing to the Prednisone. The dosage has decreased quite a bit, but this still seems to be an issue. Has anyone

Healthy New Year’s Checklist for People with Kidney Disease
For those of you on Original Medicare, you know that at the beginning of each year you are advised about a Wellness Check that OM will cover. For those of you who have other insurance you may or may not receive something similar. In any case, I thought this checklist would be valuable for all to see

Husband on the transplant list
My husband is on the lung transplant list here in the UK which is wonderful. We know it could be a long wait and we are ok with that but I am struggling to keep going with “normal” life. I would like to 100% focus on my husband and family but need to work until the call comes to afford the time off to

What does it mean to be a transplant advocate?
Do you spread awareness about
organ
transplantation? Do you volunteer at your local
transplant
center? Being an advocate can also simply mean that you help your loved ones with keeping track of their medications or follow up appointments! Let us know!

A Welcome, to Other Friends
I have just visited the Vasculitis Forum, on here, there was a question on Kidney Transplantation. I direct the person here indicating that, both I, and 'Others' would assist her. I, fully expect, this to Re-direct, a number- of 'Folk'- from this other Forum, which is in fact, my 'Home' Forum, as I have
