Levetiracetam (Keppra) to help in some cases of RLS.
Tim61, I posted recently about withdrawing from Pramipexole, which I’m doing at the moment, not very nice. My GP eventually discovered I was suffering with myoclonic jerks, not restless leg syndrome. I saw him yesterday’ & he has agreed to try keppra ( levetiracetam) 250mg at night. I took the first

Restarting pramipexole
I started taking pramipexole 9 years ago at .125mg/night. It worked great but over time I had to keep bumping up the dosage for it to be effective. When I reached .75mg/night I went into severe augmentation. With the help of opioids, I was able to taper totally off of it over the course of a year.

Is RLS / PLMS really the cause of all my problems ?
I hope everyone is well and that the responses to my post are helpful to others as well as for myself. Apologies for the long post and the long list of questions Before having ever taken any medication my symptoms are constant significant fatigue, memory loss, cognitive decline. jcv
JCV has nothing to do with Ocrevus. It is a problem related to Gilenya, so unless "YOU" plan on taking Gilenya it should not concern "YOU" When it comes to side effects read the forms they give "YOU" if "YOU" can as they are in small print. Legally they have to note all side effects encountered

Im new here....The long wait to diagnosis begins.
Hello everyone im currently trying to get to the bottom of a curious pain that I've been having recently. I've been told it could be retrograde bleeding, but I have a long way to go before someone will diagnose me (coming from seeing other women and their stories) ....anyway, a little about my situation

Nefopam
Has anyone been prescribed Nefopam for pain relief? It was mentioned in a tv programme as an alternative to opioids. I am currently on 20mg twice a day of slow release morphine for joint pain caused by my RA plus chronic lower back pain with right SI joint involvement. Long and the short of it is that

Long term opiod effects
My 80 year old husband was diagnosed Jan. 2016 with metastatic prostate cancer. Mets in most of his bones. His treatment, now Xtandi, Eligard, and Xgeva, seems to be working well right now. He’s been on 50mmg fentanyl and hydrocodone for 2+ years. He is sleeping more and more during the day and is

Iron, Opioids and great information
Hello all I belong to the RLS Foundation, as do many of you. But for those who do not, I have just discovered, by chance, that some of their best lectures, from some of the best experts, are now available on YouTube. Here is the lecture from Doctor Christopher Earley of the Mayo Clinic, on Iron in RLS

Greetings, all. Over the last several months, I recall seeing a post by one of the long-term members of this forum who parenthetically indicated that he or she invests a lot of time (voluntarily I presume) working in the US to try to straighten out some of the disinformation that exists around RLS,

So I started Sarilumab (Kevzara) in Mid June it’s a fortnightly injection you do at home. I had my first blood test 6 weeks in & it’s dropped my white blood count dangerously low, just like Tocizilumab did. I was supposed to take me my 4th injection on 20th of August but have refrained as I don’t want

Opioids
I have been off pramipexole for close to two weeks. Then my (new) neurologist started me on carbadopa levodopa which caused extreme anxiety so only took for 4 days. I’m totally miserable. I am wondering what opioids are used and how much. I’m trying to gather information for doctors. Also, does

Agony after injection-Remedy
I am in unbearable pain after every injection for wet AMD in left eye. I understand I am allergic to the iodine they must use during the procedure. The inside of my eyelid feels like sandpaper and the injection site is like a stone that scratches my eye every time I blink. I have tried every painkiller

Are you worried about the effect they are having and the possibility of addiction and dependency?

Do I really have PMR, should I be here? Rheumatologist suggested dx due to symptoms, but there are other possibilities. A newbie to site.
I have been on prednisone for 15 years as treatment for a number of autoimmune conditions (autoimmune hepatitis, HLA B27- positive spondyloarthropathy, possible seronegative RA); pred was used to combat inflammation after a serious reaction to biologics. A new rheumy in a new city has questioned dxes

Opioids and Cannabis
For those of us using opioids for any reason, this guide written by Doctor Dustin Sulak might be of help. It is clear, concise, and well-referenced. It is chiefly concerned with pain and the opioid epidemic. But, as I consider the symptoms of RLS to be pain, not 'funny feelings', it is appropriate for
