Since I have problems with dizziness when taking opioids for pain I have now been put on Lyrica.
Started on 25 mg oat night for 3 days with no side effects. Then upped the dose to 50 mg at night yesterday. And today I am feeling dizzy whenever I move my head. So sitting still is sort of ok, but this isn't really helpful when I need to work. I don't dare to drive at the moment.
I will ask the doctor about it but they are closed now. So just wondering does anyone have any experience with pregabalin side effects? Do they pass after getting used to the dose or????

I've been on pregabalin a while, initially Lyrica until they changed the usage for generic (for neurological problems). I did have a little lightheartedness (not dizziness) when I first started it but it has eased off the longer I've been on it. I had monthly reviews with my GP to increase the dose & now been on 150mg morning & evening around 6 months.
If your dizziness increases or continues definitely mention it to your prescriber.
Think I will call the hospital tomorrow. The main reason I am on them is to be able to work. So even if they help with the pain it is really no good if I am to dizzy to get to work 🤔
Hi marie , i have been in lyrica for 2 years, the dosage was increased gradually by 25mg until i reached the right level 200 morning and night . I avoided driving until i was settled on a level as i was unsure how it would affect me . I didn’t have any dizziness or lightheadedness , I would appear to have quite a high tolerance to drugs . I. Hope things settle as you get used to the drug , best wishes xx
Thanks a lot for replying. I do hope it will pass once I get used to it. Lucky you to have a high tolerance to drugs. I seem to get sort of dizzy from everything, even on small doses. Not really nice when it feels like everything is constantly moving like if I was out sailing
It should do.awful these side effects.hopefully your body will accept drug without dizziness. If it doesn't subside ask doctor for something else to try
Unfortunately I seem to get the dizziness from all meds I've tried, where it is listed as a side effect. I really don't have a high tolerance for meds it seems
Thanks for all the replies. I now talked to the nurse and will go down to 25 mg again for at least 7-10 days. Hopefully this will mean the dizziness will disappear so I can go to work again
I hope you manage to sort your dizziness out with pregabalin. I’ve been prescribed them too but I’m too afraid to take them. (Which is not like me) they’re sitting in the kitchen ready to go back to pharmacy lol.
