Do prisms help nystagmus and balance?
Hi, I would be very grateful if anyone who has any form of prism in their glasses would let me know whether this has helped their
nystagmus
and balance. Many thanks, Margaret

Son 37 had stroke
He has a hearing impairment in one ear and
Nystagmus
which has affected his balance along with the stroke itself. He has problems with sensing hot and cold. He gets tired so easily now. He is doing better and there is progress and we remain optimistic for the future. Thanks for listening Regards

I also have
nystagmus
in both eyes. It doesn't seem to give me much problem although my sight seems to be deteriorating quite rapidly now too. I can't tell how much of this is to do with age or my medical condition.

nystagmus
to the right also seen on fundoscopy" Went for another eye test on 30th Jan after seeing neuro who agreed with what he has written in letter and to discuss with GP.

New to this board
They did this because I had constant vertigo for almost a year and a constant
nystagmus
in my eyes that affected my vision. I was told other than gentamicin treatment, which sounded like a nightmare, this was my best option.

Double vision and squint surgery to correct it
I found that when walking,
Nystagmus
made my pupils seem to bounce against the prism, causing balance to become harder to control. In fact I actually felt disorientated, perception of depth was more difficult.

Help me
I now have
nystagmus
in the eye which causes me to vomit and feel dizzy constantly. I can't look at the tv or anything moving. I have no family to help me. They made me deteriorate like this even though they were told I'd need lots of help at home with walking as I fall.

Othalmic - Rotary Nystagmus possibly due to head injury?
Hello to community - Wonder whether anyone has experienced rotary
nystagmus
, due, possibly, to head injury. If so, has it been considered opthalmic or neurological? I would be interested to know. With thanks for any responses, G Coetzee

Silent Migraine
I have sort of been diagnosed with Silent Migraine, really I just get wicked dizzy and have
nystagmus
. It isn't vertigo, can't be brought on with position change. So I have been experiencing it for about 5 years, once or twice a week sometimes more and sometimes less.

Clinical Rating Scale for PSP
The only tricky question is about saccades (those almost invisible eye movement in people without PSP but in PSP sufferers they are the observable little rapid shifting of the eyes, almost like
nystagmus
). Just guess at this one!

HELP?! Going through things that may help.. Has anyone got a support dog, etc?
I can still walk but struggle unaided, I have slight downbeat
nystagmus
which only effects me on my worse days (I find focussing hard) and I am part deaf. My speech, writting, typing, co-ordination and mental ability is unaffected.

Meningitis and nystagmus (random eye movement)?
However, I recently went for a check up and the doctor noticed that I have
nystagmus
(a sort of random eye movement - see link). Because of the timing I think it must be linked to my meningitis. Has anybody else had this symptom? Is it common?
