Radiation complete
Feeling great! 20 sessions. Having the fiducials implanted turned out to be of great benefit as the machine stopped numerous times during treatment to reposition due to internal movements. ( it checks every 10 seconds for alignment ) only mild side effects from radiation- diarrhea mild fatigue

psma scan shows progression
I was diagnosed in 2018 with metastatic prostate cancer. Showed three spots on vertebrae and lymph node involvement. Started Lupron and casodex. PSA went to 0.9 stayed there for about 9 months until it went to 3.6. Scans then had showed vertebrae involvement had disappeared. Radiated prostate and lymph

HANGING UP MY SPIKES.
Well as you can tell I am leaving Health Unlocked (MaleCare) since regrettably my red carpet is frayed and threadbare. It’s ironic I am abandoning the ship just as The Constitution of Medical Knowledge is being implemented in dear old Health Unlocked. This implementation has nothing with me abandoning

Does Prostate Cancer-produced Testosterone (T) Show Up In Normal T, Test?
I have been on Lupron, Erleada & Xgeva for 3 months. T has dropped from 331 to 42, 43 & 39, respectively. First 3 taken @ 2pm & last @ 8am, in the day. PSA has continued to drop from 7.3, 0.7, 0.3 & now 0.2, respectively. It seems that the T should be dropping more? Is it reflecting the T made by the

Dumb Question on Casodex
Four weeks of Casodex 50 mg alone reduced my PSA from 1.10 to 0.42. Casodex stops testosterone from all sources from binding to cancer cells. While Lupron decreases testosterone produced by the testicles. Why shouldn't Casodex be better than Lupron?

Enough is Enough - Alicia Morgans, MD, MPH,
Thought this was interesting. When I saw the Director of Urology at a major NCCN institute in late 2016 for a 2nd opinion after surgery and SRT failed and I argued my case for triplet therapy, he said, no, he would only treat me with monotherapy, ADT, Lupron. Needless to say, I thanked him, left, went

Rib Cage intermittent sharp pains
Recently started having intermittent sharp pains that shoot thru the right side of my rib cage. No strenuous activity that would cause a pulled muscle or such. Had mildly elevated liver enzymes on last blood test so am curious if there might be a connection. On standard, Zytega, Prednisone and Lupron

My Mother’s BC
I‘m trying to understand my mother’s treatment for stage I BC. She is 83 y/o and she was diagnosed in May with a 9mm tumor in one of her breasts. With only a scan to mark the tumor, she was sent to a general surgeon to remove the tumor as well as the “Main Breast Lymph Node” in the armpit. Is that normal

Ending ADT Vacation
Today I had Lupron 3 month shot ending a vacation of one year. I had been on 50 mg Casodex for 4 weeks before this Lupron shot. Originally, it was planned for a 2 week on Casodex. Unfortunately, 2 weeks extended to 4 weeks because my wife got Covid 19 after a trip to London. On June 1 my PSA was

I'm 84 and diagnosed with PC 5 months ago. I was told I had High Risk Localized PC with a Gleason score of 8.
I was put on Firmagon immediately and took 45 radiation IMRT sessions, which I just finished. Although the pet and bone scans showed no signs of spread outside the prostate, I am also taking 500mg of Zytiga with 5mg of Prednisone as a precaution, . I also take .4 mg Flomax (I no longer have fainting

Testosterone Trial? What!
Here’s an update and my experiences participating in a Testosterone trial through the VA. Later I discovered that I was the first person to be a part of this trial in all of the United States. My medical oncologist said that if we could get six to seven months on this protocol that we’d be doing well

After 30 days on xtandi my PSA has gone down, 1.09 to 0.97. I also got a lupron injection. I go back in Oct. Hopefully I will be undetectable by then.

A question for Tall_Allen, j-o-h-n, LearnAll, tango65 and a lot of other guys smarter than me. In Aug 2019 I had a Radical prostatectomy. Nov 2019 I was dx with mCRPC and 6 bone lesions throughout my body. I’ve run the gambit of Bicalutamide, Docetaxel, Abiraterone, Cabazitaxel, still taking Lupron

Between a rock and a hard place
I am 67 years old and ver healthy. However, I was recently diagnosed with PCa . My Gleason score is 9 in one sample and 7 in the other two samples from the 12 samples taken from my prostate. My PSA is 23.7, and pet scan indicates no met so far. My urologist advises that I see both MO and radiologist

Boring! (In a good way.)
Mr. Spouse21 had bone and CT scans last week. Everything looks stable since the Jan. 2022 scans six months ago, PSA=.15. ALP=40. (My profile of him is very detailed if anyone wants to look at the history.) Mind you, Mr. Spouse21 ended his 10th docetaxel infusion over two years ago, which is a very decent

Update to progress; Halfway through Radiation treatments and all is going well. Exercises are getting harder to complete, but I am persevering. Have taken a few naps but generally life is pretty normal. Had 3 times where we could not manifest an erection during the first week of radiation. Of course
