First round of IVF coming up

Hello everyone. Following on from my last post I got a second opinion with the CEO of the clinic I'm at and he was amazing. He didn't agree with his colleague and said I don't need more surgery, we can go ahead and unless my body reacts badly he isn't putting a limit on number of rounds we are allowed. So a completely different consultation.

I am currently on norethisterone with egg retrieval provisionally for 1st Nov.

We had a 30min chat with a nutritionist yesterday which was included in our treatment and it was good. But seeing lots of posts about all the additional supplements you take I'm wondering if I should be taking more or changing my diet more.

I have no issues fertility wise apart from pcos and they said I have a good egg reserve considering I'm nearly 40.

I suppose we don't know egg quality yet?? Is that only checked after retrieval? Sorry if that's a stupid question, new to this!

After yesterday im upping my fruit particularly blueberries, raspberries and strawberries and making sure we eat veggies at every meal. Any recommendations on the best ones to get the best goodness?

Sorry one more question is there anything you'd advise/recommend for me and my partner from your experences going into first round that would be useful/helpful to know or do?

Just take your treatment cycle a day at a time If ever unsure of next step/ what's happening just ask the nurse/doctor to explain it again to you Great that you are getting yourselves prepared - good colourful diet - plenty green leafy veg - wholemeal bread/rice /pasta Could ask your clinic if they could suggest any supplements that would be of benefit to you

Good luck with your treatment

Yes.. they won’t know about your egg quality until you have retrieval

Diet wise I spoke to Melanie Brown and she recommended food from 4 colour groups a day. So red.. peppers, tomatoes etc, orange.. sweet potatoes, green.. broccoli & other leafy greens and yellow.. sweetcorn etc!

I have berries daily and mix nuts in with greek yoghurt. I have at least 2 portions of fish a week and limit caffeine and refined sugar.

Supplements wise I take ovum, extra vitamin c, extra vitamin e, an additional 400mg ubiquinol and omega 3. I also take a probiotic as I had BV on a recent microbiome swab

Best of luck xxx
