Im 39 with endo. Had 3 unsuccessful rounds and due to start the next, but in between my second and third round I didn’t have a period. I’ve always had ovulation around day 14 and a 28 day cycle but my period never came. After 55 days I was put on norethisterone and started my period, so I could begin stims. After that unsuccessful round I had a withdrawal bleed but now my period hasn’t come again. Has anyone any experience of their periods stopping as a result of all the medication? And for how long until your cycles went back to normal? I’m worried that it’s put me into some sort of ovarian failure and that they’ll never come back. I feel like my body and fertility is in a worse condition than when I started, after IVF. 🙈

Lost periods post ivf
Hi. I can an imagine how worried you are. However, it is not uncommon for a period cycle to take up to three months to return to what is normal for you.. I feel confident your specialist will get you back on track again. Thinking of you and good luck for your n3xt round. Diane sorry about the underlining. iPad got a blip.
oh wow I actually didn’t know ivf can mess up period I just had an egg collection and day 5 and haven’t had my period yet this is going to worry me now!
Hi Daisy, I don’t think this is unusual. After duo stim ivf in November and 2 egg collections, my cycle was 36 days the first time and then the next one was 19 days so it’s been wild over here! I’ve also not ovulated since. I think everyone is different and things can take a little time to get back to normal. I had my hormones checked by the gp 4 weeks after egg retrieval they were still absolutely all over the place, so crazy cycles are not surprising.
Thanks for your support and insights ladies xx
