no bleed on norethisterone?

hello,

I am on phase 1 of ivf. I took norethisterone as prescribed 3 times a day for like 13 days or something. My last pill was Sunday, today is Wed and still got no bleed? I called my nurse already and she is not worried, as she mentioned bleeding happens within 3-5days. As long as I get it by Saturday I can go ahead with my protocol.

I have no underlying issues, but I thought I’d have my bleed by now. Really scared that if I don’t have it then the entire protocol will be messed up!

Hi. Try not to worry too much, it will come when you’re ready, then you can continue. Good luck. Diane

Thank you so much! My nurse said she is confident we will follow the protocol. Worst case scenario on Monday we will figure out a new one!

I am in my 2 week wait in my first ivf cycle and I had exactly the same thing with norethisterone where I was worried my bleed wouldn’t come but my clinic assured me it would and it turns out they were right. Totally get the anxiety you feel but remember that your clinic will have seen this before so whatever happens they will do what they need to to give you the maximum chance of success. Wishing you lots of luck 🍀

Omg thank you so much for your kind reply! I know what you mean, my partner said the same, they wouldn’t prescribe it if they weren’t 100% sure it would work. We are in the situation of male infertility, luckily my tests came all back normal, so the dr and nurses are super positive about my health and fertility. This afternoon I started to feel cramps and my breasts are very tender so I believe we are almost there.

I wish you the best in your 2 week wait, I will probs post anxiously about that, too. I send you a big hug and I hope it turns out fine for you ♥️

I didn't get a bleed for 6 days after I stopped norethisterone on my most recent cycle. Hope yours comes soon, and you can go ahead with your cycle ❤

thank you! Yeah no bleed yet and it is day 4! I am not really sure what to do :( I know that with ivf is all up in the air, but I thought the norethisterone part was the easy bit. My periods come like clockwork, and I been on birth control in the past and always bled towards the end of the sugar pills. Now I risk throwing in the bin an entire ivf cycle 😂 like it’s a joke!

Hi! I finished my norethisterone on the Sunday and I started my bleed late on Thursday evening and then full flow on Friday. Hopefully it will be any day now and you can start stims. Sounds like you’re exactly 1 week behind me. Good luck!xxx

Yeah, we are exactly one week apart. Both yesterday and today I started to feel horrible cramps. This morning I keep going back and forth to the bathroom because I "feel" something coming down but it's like it's not there yet...I am ok, and I am glad I am not the only one. I just feel so alone in this anxiety sometime. I am glad this forum is a supportive space! We will get there x

I am not bleeding yet, but I am sure it will happen soon, I feel like there is a war zone in my belly at the moment and I keep going to the bathroom because I feel constantly the need to pee. So we are almost there. Worst case scenario, if it doesn't happen I will call the nurse on Monday and she'll know what to do! They prescribe this medication because it works otherwise they would prescribe something else xx
