Hearing Aids?
Hi, My mum had brain surgery back in 1991 for a schwannoma/acoustic
neuroma
. Her hearing was affected but as she's got older her hearing in that ear has significantly deteriorated.

Fined for my Accoustic Neuroma
Hi, Following a recent MRI during which my AN was shown to have increased in size, I have also noticed a change in my symptoms. Although unilateral hearing loss and tinnitus have stayed the same (at least as far as I can notice), I do notice an increased unsteadiness when walking around for some time

Acoustic neuroma
I developed acoustic aroma about a year and a half ago. All of a sudden, my right ear felt clogged and I started to develop tinnitus. I am really upset because I don’t know what I’m in for. The worst part of this is the tinnitus. I wish that it would just go away and it would be cure for it. It’s loud

Bursitis of toes & Steroid Injection
Two trips to GP (July & November 23) & finally preliminary diagnosis of Morton's
Neuroma
because of a burning nerve pain. Instead ultrasound has shown an inflamed bursa pressing on a nerve. GP has referred me for steroid injection which I'm not looking forward to, but felt I had little option.

Hello< I have just been diagnosed with a AN measuring 14mm, I am seeing the consultant on 8th Feb but it seems I am on the watch and wait!
The whole story, the truth and nothing but the truth! I developed Tinnitus mildly I'd say about six months ago but I have always had neck issues, been having massage to relieve aches but now joining up the dots, this seems to be linked to the AN. Back in November 2022 I took part in a day of scanning

My husband has been diagnosed with an acoustic
neuroma
, he has to have surgery because it’s too big for radio therapy .I’m so worried about how he’ll be after the operation and whether he’ll return to full health?

What shoes do you wear for walking? Or: The Slow-as-a-Snailshoe Epiphany
In my move towards ensuring I’d never have an issue with Morton’s
Neuroma
again, I made a plan to slowly switch out all my shoes to wide-toebox, 0-drop shoes.

confused
I have this loud noise in my head from my acoustic
neuroma
and sometimes, s as Jen people are talking , I can’t hear them, especially if there’s background noise and I get confused and agitated . I can’t say anything, because they are strangers and can’t see that I’m struggling.

PD and orthopedic surgeries
I’m debating having a partial knee replacement (for patella femoral arthritis) AND/OR Morton’s
neuroma
surgery. I really need both, but am very concerned about not being able to exercise, the way I usually do, for at least a few months.

Falling apart
I'm feeling weary, have slow digestion, put on about 4kg in the last 3 months, have freezing cold feet and my Morton's
Neuroma
is playing up again. On top of that I have a huge CBA attitude to anything and have trouble falling asleep. The thing that surprised me was that I have low antibodies.

Dental implants...should I be concerned?
First off, I have an acoustic
neuroma
and found this out about 7 years ago via MRI. I've only been back to doc once to have another MRI done about 4 years ago and it had very little growth. I do have this ongoing funny feeling sensation in my head mostly when I drive.

Awaiting hospital appt
Hi I've had a letter through the post saying I have a small AN and now awaiting specialist appointment at Salford. I've had symptoms of tinnitus my referral to ENT was my ask not GPs and I was surprised when the ENT consultant offered me an MRI to put my mind at ease. I was expecting it to come back

You are all babies so far that I have read. My tumor was removed by surgery AN and they called it a schwannoma. But who knew from what I was told I don't think they knew much. It was taken in 1990, a large bugger that left me deaf, palsied, tinnitus, open eyed, and short of balance., Neeedless

Update on my check for possible Acoustic Neuroma.
I had my hearing test yesterday and was very relieved to hear that they didn’t think that I needed referring for a head scan or ENT appointment for suspected Acoustic
Neuroma
. Thanks very much for the support on this site.
