Acoustic Neuroma 4cm.
Hi, I am 25 years old, and have just been diagnosed with a large Acoustic
neuroma
around 4cm in size. It is pressing on my brain stem and nerves leading to my brain. I am already profoundly deaf in my left ear and having lots of symptoms and side effects from it.

British Acoustic Neuroma Association
I had an Acoustic
Neuroma
removed surgically in 1986, before the options that are now available. To anyone wanting more info and support, I can recommend BANA, British Acoustic
Neuroma
Association. This is a registered charity and has a lot of information you may find helpful bana-uk.com

A change of circumstances followed by a foot injury (Morton’s
neuroma
) stopped me running last Spring and now I’m very unfit but determined to try again. Just hope my feet don’t let me down! 🦶🦶🙏

Question related to Recovery
Hi All, I had Acoustic
Neuroma
of 3.4 cm big. I got operated last year in October. After the Operation everything is fine, it took time to recover. But, I am not completely recovered. My face and my smile isn't back. It's been more than a year and I am still hoping that it gets better.

A little bit of advise would be greatly appreciated
I currently have pain and joint stiffness in my hands, knees and feet and first thing in the morning my feet hurt to walk when I get out of bed, this is made worse by a morton’s
neuroma
which is very painful. I don’t take anything other than ibuprofen at the moment and I’m managing.

Surgery done while awake?
I have what the doctors told me was an acoustic
neuroma
but over the last 10 months it has almost tripled in size and seems to have moved slightly. My doctor is sending me to a neurosurgeon for surgery.

Have you been offered any relief for symptoms?
Two years on from gamma knife treatment, MRI shows that my Acoustic
Neuroma
has continued to grow and is now double its original size. Obviously not good news. The symptoms are now life changing.

I'm new here...
I first noticed an issue May 2018, just thought my ears needed a clear out of wax, I got referred to ENT after a hearing test and further visits to the doctors, in 6 months, after an MRI scan was diagnosed with an acoustic
neuroma
.

Symptoms
Hi. I have unilateral high frequency hearing loss and tinnitus. I also get tingling and a strange feeling on the same side. Waiting for my mri. Has anyone else had similar symptoms and it wasn’t a Tumor? My dad has had three benign brain tumours although none of them linked to ears but I’m a bit paranoid

Can anyone give advice on one sided deafness and a BiCROS hearing aid?
I waited - saw the ENT at local NHS hospital, and after checking me out for acoustic
neuroma
(have balance issues too) sent me on my way with a hearing aid that absolutely doesn't work for me - and told me I needed a neurologist for my balance issues.

Oh, God, what have I done...!!!
- as an anticipated birthday gift to myself, but the idea of a Marathon on tarmac makes me shudder because of a Morton
Neuroma
. I renounced to it. I have a particular emotional link to Mount Saint-Michel, so I felt quite sad, but hey...I am more of an off road runner, anyway...

nerve pain in my toe
I am wondering if I have a return of Morton's
Neuroma
. My toe next to my little toe is so painful to walk on, I have seen a Podiatrist, she prescribed insoles, which are too stiff so not much help. Will this be made worse by RA I wonder?.

My tinnitus and one sided deafness (caused by massive brain tumour) story.
The tumour was called 'Acoustic
Neuroma
' and it's rare, only 1 in 100 thousand people get one, and I am one of them. Even if you had my symptoms, only 1 in 2000 people with those symptoms have it and then it's very rare for it to be this large.

Recommendation for treatment at MD Anderson?
I had my six month follow up MRI yesterday and my 9mm AN has grown to 11mm. I have total deafness in affected ear; feeling of fullness in ear; and tinnitus. I am wondering if I am now at the point of needing to consult an "expert." As my daughters live in Houston area, MD Anderson seems like a logical

Stress certainly sets AF off!
My 20 year old granddaughter was due to have a 4.5cm Acoustic
Neuroma
tumour removed tomorrow, we were all prepared and supporting her. When the phone call came, sorry but we have to cancel your operation as there has been an emergency.
