Testing Ferritin Levels
Long story short: About a year ago my ferritin levels were on the floor (4ng/ml, range 15-200ng/ml, I think, not sure), was prescribed ferrous fumarate and the level climbed over the course of about six months to 70ng/ml or so. Since it was at a good level my GP and I agreed that I should drop down to

Have had low ferritin (2) and never had b12 tested
Had low ferritin for ages, it's only coming up very very slowly, seen gastroenterology specialist who just said I need to take iron indefinitely, either daily tablets or intravenous every 6 months. No one has said how much to take....my GP said for me to adjust as necessary....well I don't know how

Felt brilliant in both pregnancies so looking for clues...
A little off topice but hoping you'll be able to help... I've been pregnant twice, with two healthy children as the outcome. Physically, pregnancy is not kind to me: I had symphis pubis dysfunction twice (less awful in the second pregnancy as about three stone lighter) and gestational diabetes twice

Hair loss
So my hair is coming out at a somewhat more noticeable rate than before and at times I wouldn't expect to see it. I know I'm not optimally medicated but my current fT3 level is 4.0 (3.5-5.5) vs 3.8 about five weeks ago and the hair loss is much worse than then. I'm pretty sure my ferritin is at a healthy

Some assistance with interpretation please?
Since mid March I have been taking 125 Levo and 10 t3 after talking endo into a trial. Feeling much much better. Lost nearly a stone in weight so far (Slimming World - working hard at it) and felt energetic enough to start yoga and Tai Chi. Take ferrous sulphate instead of the other iron supplement

When to take zinc, selenium supplements
I take my thyroid meds in the morning when I wake up, along with my antidepressants, my vitamin B complex tablet and my pill. I take my vitamin B12 and vitamin D with my breakfast, a couple of hours after I get up. I take my ferrous fumarate supplement before going to bed, along with 1000mg vitamin C

Ferrous Fumarate - availability according to a pharmacist ...
I popped into a Lloyds pharmacy (attached to a Surgery) this morning, asked for some Ferrous Fumarate and the Pharmacist told me that it would not be available until the end of June due to manufacturing difficulties. He claimed that there was only one manufacturer. I really don't know what to do, apparently

How do I do it
Swear to God was having a
nervous
breakdown
this am. After a grueling week (which for anyone else would be a breeze) I literally couldn't get out of bed. The husband had all the usual Sat plans so I somehow "played thru" the day, managing to not actually leave the house, but got my chores done.

Ferritin good. Saturation in range but low
I am on Nature Throid 2 grains. I've not had a problem getting onto this. Was on T3 only for 6 months before this. Prior to all of this I had been on 125mcgs levothyroxine for 28years and very stable. Suddenly it stopped working for me and I ended up with very low TSH. Very high T4 and low T3. Endo put

I got a call from my doctor today to tell me my cortisol level is good and I do not have Cushings. Well that's one less thing to worry about. Willl pick up a copy of the result next time I am in the area. I have been informed today that there is a serious shortage of Ferrous Fumarate. The gp told

Pains - could it be iron suplements?
For the last week I've been getting increasing aches and pains. First in my hands and feet, then my arms and legs too, now all over. I've been taking 600mg of Ferrous Sulphate a day for a month now. Could it be that or just worse hypo symptoms?
