Spatone Liquid Iron
Wondering if anyone has tried Spatone to give their iron levels a boost? Can you take it with Pred? Am on 12.5 at the moment. I know the Ferrous Sulphate will be a lot stronger but don’t like the side effects, Spatone seems to get a lot of good reviews, find it difficult to make decisions these days

Aneamia & Ferrous Sulphate
When I became aneamic,I was told to eat iron-rich foods and bloods will be tested again after a month. My own GP is on holiday and I saw a different one this week to ask for a new prescription for Pred. He also gave me a prescription for Ferrous Sulphate 200mg twice daily. I am not sure whether to take

Hypothyroidism and cholesterol - also fluctuating TSH?
This is my first post on thyroid UK but I was advised to come here from the cholesterol forum. I am 32 years old and I have hypothyroidism. I was initially found to have high cholesterol back in 2016. It was 5.8 (<5.0) I have also been getting white plaques of skin around my eyes, the nurse said that

Graves - next stage
Hi all, I have posted a couple of times but still a newbie when Graves is concerned. Seen my endo consultant in April, diagnosed as having Graves’ disease (antibodies present) told to increase my carbimazole to 40mg for 6 weeks and then back to 20mg. Also told to stop propanol gradually. GP put me

Iron Deficiency May Predict Greater Risk for Hypothyroxinemia: A Retrospective Cohort Study of Pregnant Women in China
One of the parts of the thyroid jigsaw that is most often repeated here is the importance of iron levels. Here, in the context of pregnancy, another paper highlighting the importance of adequate iron. Yet, most of the time, we hear of standard treatment being ferrous sulphate - and the difficulty people

Support before GP visit
I am so very confused about what to do with my situation. Anti-parietal cells have been confirmed in 2013, but I've not had treatment for this. I am repeatedly told my diagnosis is not something I need to worry about at the moment. In terms of facts, my most recent blood test taken on the 12th June 2018

Low iron levels and egg quality
So I started stimming a week ago, it looks like my egg collection will be mid next week. I already had low iron levels and have been on tablets for over a month as my levels were at 20% (I think they should be at 40 or 50%). I've been taking one tablet twice a day of 200mg ferrous sulfate. But last

The St Thomas Hospital Transcobalamin testing service
Hello, Has anyone on this forum had experience for the transcobalamin testing service offered at St Thomas Hospital? I am to understand that it requires a GP referral letter to get an appointment but the patient only pays a £15+vat private blood-drawing charge? Have I got this right from the literature
