Updates on AF meds
Hello. Had appointment with AF specialist yesterday at Berks Cardiology. Everything went well. He explained everything in detail of my options, and basically said it's my choice to do whatever I wanted. I told him I wanted to exercise again at the gym, he said I could do whatever I wanted to do, but

Amlodipine and heart arrhythmias
My husband takes Amlodipine for mildly raised BP and for about 2 hours after taking it his heart performs badly. Until recently, it was merely a slightly raised rate and PAC's, but in the last week his rate is 50% higher than normal, massive amounts of PAC's and PVC's and Kardia shows 'possible AF

Mixing medications
Apologies if this is a well repeated question, but not sure how to search for old posts where l’m sure there is an answer! Does anyone know of a good site where one can search for drug interactions? Have tried the pharmacy which is okay if you can get them to answer the phone and I won’t start on problems

Stopped flecainide
Last week I stopped taking flecainide. I was on a lower dose of 50 mg twice a day. My cardiologist said I didn’t have to wean off if it because it is a small dosage. This week following the stoppage my heart rate has been very high. Just standing up it will jump into the 90’s. I called my cardiologist

With aggravated osteoporosis my partner has been offered the choice of monthly doses of Bonviva or a six monthly injection. Which would be most effective to mitigate the osteoporosis while remaining compatible with an AF/pacemaker regime that includes Amias, Sotalol, Furosemide, and Apixaban?.

Ramdom flips from bradycardia to tachycardia.
First Post. Hi everyone I'm a 64 year old male livng in Yorkshire, England. I first became aware of issues with my heart over 40 years ago, my wife noticed my heart would miss a beat every now and again. At some point a doctor told me I had an ectopic beat and that it wasn't anything to worry about,

stopping apixaban
I’m due to have a procedure (balloon dilation) to help my swallowing next week and the ENT consultant wants me to stop my apixaban for three days prior to this, it’s not a surgical procedure but there is a chance of bleeding. I have recently had a cardioversion and as far as I’m aware I’m still in NSR

Shaking Body & Cold Clammy Hands
Hi all Fortunately my AF episodes are few & far between 🤞, therefore I just take Flecainide as PIP when it kicks off, which it did at 1am this morning. I got up to go to the loo & when I got back to bed I couldn’t stop shaking, I was so cold, then the AF started. My question is does anyone suffer

I reside in the UK and was diagnosed with Afib in early October and had a mild heart attack, in hospital for five days and given flecainide (50mg twice daily), apixaban (5mg twice daily), statins (40mg once daily) Losartan 5mg (once daily). I have always been intolerant to a lot of medication and vaccinations

Something I forgot to mention
I wrote about Toprol (Metoprol) a few minutes ago. I forgot to mention that I also take Flecainide, 100 mg. twice a day.

Catching a cold when you have fibro - turns out it’s COVID fml
Do you find that when you catch a cold you are affected much worse than other people around you? I never get ‘just a sniffle’. I always say I’m a woman who gets man flu. My partner went to work right through his cold even though he felt quite rough. I just got up to make a drink and dragging my body

Third Attempt.and Fail
Well, Made a trip four hours away to another EP to attempt another ablation for Atrial Tachycardia. Yet again, now a second time, this ridiculously elusive rhythm evaded them and they could not do the ablation . Not sure what options that I have left to me now. Probably will have to take Metoprolol,

Hi, quite new to this forum and this is my first post. Recently diagnosed with Afib, 58 year old man, otherwise healthy. I have different types of episodes. Some seem to be just ectopics - sporadic skipped beats; some I guess Afib since lasting longer with a "bird in the chest/stomach " sensation and

Some bad news…
I had a bypass a year ago and everything seemed to be going fairly well. I noticed a bit of chest pain in May but this seemed to pass over and the consultant wasn’t too concerned. However, two or three weeks ago I noticed some left-sided chest/arm/shoulder pain when cycling and this has got progressively

Double dose of Apixaban this morning
Good morning My husband who has AF took 2 x 5mg Apixaban this morning instead of one! The leaflet with the tablets says if you take too many, you should contact your doctor immediately. I've phoned over to our surgery and told them and am awaiting a reply. I am a born worrier but he is so precious
