Irregular heartbeat after AF episode
Last night my OH had his second AF episode, first one was about 22months ago for which he was hospitalised. Since then he has been on Bisoprolol 1,25mg once daily and Apixaban 5mg twice daily. He was told if he had another episode to take “pill in pocket” once, which is a 5mg dose of Bisoprolol. This

The blanking period after ablation
I didn't think it was possible to hate AF more than I did before the ablation. Constantly waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get a decent night's sleep. It wasn't always like this but it has been getting worse - probably 5-6 times a week. And then an ablation is offered - light

I have a incredibly toxic family
I have a very low confidence and high level of social awkwardness. I think this is because of two things: my toxic family and my history of being bullied incessantly, especially from the 5th to 7th grade.I feel that my family is not a normal family. My mom and dad always scapegoated one another and swore

Can you drive with intermittent broad complex tachycardia that doesn’t give you many symptoms?
After phone call from cardiologist last evening informing me of episodes of broad complex tachycardia on my 5 day ECG I’m left with many questions. I’m a 60yr female. HA and AFib 9 months ago. Not a risk factor in sight. 🤷🏼♀️ Being referred to electrophysiologist. Any advice please. Thank you.

Broad complex tachycardia. I’m being referred to an EP after a 5 day ECG showed episodes of this. I’m imagining the worst.
I’m 9 months post heart attack, (at 59yrs), due to blood clot, 6 months post successful cardio version for AFib. None smoker, was physically fit pre HA ( still exercising), healthy weight , no risk factors. Ejection fraction has improved from 40% to 46% Cardiologist phoned me earlier. I’d had arrhythmia

Now aware there’s a non live one, Shingrix, but as I’m 62 it may take a bit of support (or saving up!) to get it.Only another 8 years to wait! Why isn’t this offered as routine for us folks….know it doesn’t provide full immunity..what

Heat hurting heart?
hey heart friends, Is anyone finding this heat is hurting them (for those in UK)? My heart was funky last night and tonight my stomach is crunching and painful (maybe dodgy rice!). Just finding this weather quite hard on my PVCs, which are already at tens of thousands a day. Also, for anyone who

unsuccessful referral to a gynaecologist give up with GP 👨⚕️
I’m really struggling to deal and cope with my endometriosis, I managed to get to my GP after months and weeks of trying to get an appointment to be told they won’t refer me as it’s soemthing the GP can manage yet it’s not being managed as I have nothing to take for pain apart from paracetamol and ibuprofen

Permanent AF
Hi everyone. I have recently been diagnosed with permanent AF following having paroxysmal AF for over 4 years. My heart rate never goes much beyond the 70s so no one seems worried about it, the GP has just increased my bisoprolol from 2.5 to 5mg. I am on other appropriate medication including anti

Afib or palpitations?
Once in a while I get very irregular heartbeats after I go to bed at night. My Dr. said they are palpitations and not afib and did not occur during the 24 hour holter monitor, but I noticed a pattern as to when they occur: always after a very salty and probably MSG restaurant meal and a few drinks with

Vagus Nerve Stimulation VNS for FND?
If there is something wrong with your vagus nerve it affects heart rate, irregular movement, dizziness and nausea. Doctors have told me that sometimes what I described is like a vasovagal response. So I wondered if the vagus nerve was treated maybe it will help my FND symptoms. Has anyone had that Vagus

Does it get better?
Hi all, I’ve been dealing with chronic pelvic pain for a really long time now, and in the last year it’s really snowballed into something that is unbearable. I’m in pain all day every day, varying from aches to proper full on debilitating pain. I’m to the point where I can’t carry out my job, I keep

Beast is Back
Three weeks after my fourth ablation, and advised to drop flecainide, the beast returned. (Kept on metoprolol & Xarelto). Started after an afternoon nap for no reason at all. Confirmed by nurse with ecg yesterday and put back on flecainide until appointment on Monday with ep and another ecg. I’m hoping

Hello you knowledgeable lot!! Can anybody help me out with this? First appointment with arrhythmia service.
Hello. I’m 7 wks into my AF journey, having had an episode early March and new to the forum. I’m trying to learn as much as I can. When experiencing my episode where I was tachycardic and diagnosed from ECG with AF , I was discharged on the same day with bisuprolol 2.5 and rivoroxaban 20 mgs daily.

Hi all, please can some of you list the life style changes that can be recommended to some one newly diagnosed with Afibb?
I have a friend who is awaiting diagnosis of Afibb, also has huge burden of ectopic beats and tachycardia when in sinus mode. I have seen on here listed sometimes, the life style recommendations that can be made whilst awaiting cardiology appointment but have been unable to find them. Also can not remember

Could anyone share with me their experience of the process, experience and effectiveness of the Implanted Loop Recorder?
Hi Friends, I am having a loop recorder implanted on Friday at Barts. I was feeling quite positive about the idea but as the day gets nearer find myself getting myself getting nervous about it. My main anxiety is that in some way way in will cause to me have another A-fib episode, which I haven
