Hi Attic, I have taken both for many years and never had a problem. I also take statins.

I doubt it would cause any harm or for that matter benefit other than it can taste nice, A recent programme by Dr Michael Moseley suggested that cholesterol was largely genetic and that such things had little to offer.

I believe Benecol contains sucralose which is an artificial sweetener. Artificial sweeteners were a sure trigger for my AF attacks. Look up the side effects of sucralose. Jean

Jean — I bought a drink that is sweetened with erythritol and stevia. What do you think of them as sweeteners?

Hi Tiburon, you might be interested in the following regarding erythritol. Personally I avoid all sweeteners other than honey.

I have been having benecol drinks for decades, been on Edoxaban for 14 months, no problems . It’s hard to see how the combination would cause a.problem to be honest

I’ve taken one daily for a couple of years and no problem. Also take Apixiban

I have the Aldi Brooklea version with no apparent issues.

Try Plant Sterols. Just google them and you will see suppliers. You just take one or two capsules every day. Works out much cheaper than benecol and no nasty sweeteners. They do work. Several years ago, I reduced from 6.8 to 4.6 by taking them.
