hi I know people can’t give medical advice but I’m hoping maybe for some reassurance/opinions I was given a stent in 2018 no heart attack but narrowed lad I’ve recently started to notice high heart rate readings on my Apple Watch SE no notification but only saw it when looking back through the days data this doesn’t happen every day and it’s never happened while I’ve been asleep it only lasts a few seconds I’ve recently started to get missed beats which I’m assuming are ectopics they are becoming more frequent and I think this is due to my anxiety about them I recently had a trip to A&e after a run of them and feeling lightheaded which agin I think was anxiety/panic about them I had numerous ecg’s and blood was taken they captured a missed beat on one ecg I was discharged without any medication etc but referee for echo and holter waiting for those I’ve recently googled my symptoms (silly I know ) but am now panicking that what I thought may be svt could infact be vt or vf I’m now in a panic sorry for the long post

Thank you for your post, it is natural to feel anxious when symptoms change and essential we do not ignore them. If you would like to discuss your concerns or ask any questions, please feel free to contact our Patient Services Team; +44 1789 867502 or visit heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
Kind regards

I would definitely ignore "Dr. Google" and be reassured that if the A&E found something serious, they would not have discharged you without medications
Appropriate tests have been ordered and until they come back, I'd just try and relax because things usually turn out a lot better than what we imagine.
Ectopic beats are fairly common and may in fact be the high heart rate blips your Apple Watch is picking up.

I’m not saying this is the case here but smart watches are known to give false high readings occasionally for a variety of reasons and I have seen them on mine, spent ages trying to work out what was I doing at the time without much success. Recently I was able to pinpoint the time from a supermarket receipt and it was while holding the trolley over the bumps in a carpark. Unless I feel something at the time, I now tend to ignore these highs looking back and assume they were false readings. Do an internet search on false high heart rate readings or have a look at the bottom of the page on this Apple Support page.

Hope my thoughts are helpful and don’t ignore any symptoms.
Hi Deltrot (Btw love the name- I guess you’re an Only Fools and Horses fan?!)
Im sorry to hear about the heartbeat symptoms and the anxiety they’re causing. I find that the anxiety around undiagnosed symptoms is the biggest stealer of my peace and happiness.
I think the offer from Tracey (admin) to chat through your symptoms and concerns with the Patient Services Team is a really good idea. I’ve heard that the British Heart Foundation nurses on the helpline are helpful too.
I’m not a medic, so I’m just talking from my experience. From what you say, it seems you’ve had some reassuring indications from the time you went to A&E, and also (which you refer to in your next post) it’s great that your Kardia shows normal sinus rhythm while you are feeling the missed beats, which I think would indicate it is ectopics, as you say.
I think you’re concerned about the sudden spikes in heart rate? Can I ask how high it is going? You said it’s just a few seconds at a time, and you’re not aware of it happening? (I do wonder sometimes whether the Apple Watch data can throw up things that aren’t even happening!) I had a few seconds of VT once recorded on my holter monitor, and I certainly felt it. It’s great that you’re getting an echo and a holter monitor so you’ll be able to get a proper recording and set your mind at rest. I think Dr Google has a lot to answer for sometimes, I def worry myself with all the things it could be rather than going by how I really feel.
Hold tight there, try not to worry, and if you have specific questions or fears it’s definitely worth speaking to a professional at the end of the helpline for advice/reassurance. Or your GP of course - even if you feel they’re fed up of you! Whilst you’re waiting for more clarity, it’s natural you might have concerns and questions.
And do let us know how you get on? Jx
Thank you for your reply yes I am an only fools fan lol my heart rate spikes on my Apple Watch are usually 150-170bpm they only last a few seconds and I’ve never seen one while I’m asleep only during the day for sure the offer from Tracey is very kind and I will take her up on it I’m also going to stay away from doctor google and hopefully after my tests I’ll have a clearer and hopefully less worrying picture thanks agin for taking the time to reply
I also see the occasional out of the normal high Pulse on my apple watch.
It will pop out a 123 or 140, for one or two seconds only, yet I never feel like my heart is racing. I think the green light/algorithm is just messing up. Or its seeing a PVC/PAC as the faster beat (I don't normally get PVC/PAC.
This freaked me out the first time I saw it.
I think this happens more when I am out exercising doing house work and moving my hands around a lot. For the most part, I just ignore them now if I its only for the one reading.
Hope you feel better.
