Not allowed back on pred with TCZ
Some of you kindly gave me your thoughts on taking some 'emergency' pred so that I could get through playing at my concert on Saturday. First blood tests since starting Abi.
Yesterday I saw the MO and when he entered the room he had a bid smile. My Psa that had climbed from 6.6 in March to 19.14 on Sept. 5 had dropped to 4.74 yesterday. ALP was 141 Sept 5 and down to 114 yesterday. I started taking low dose Abi on Sept 9 so total treatment was 24 days. To say he was happy

How early should I take pred in the morning?
Hi everyone, I've been taking my pred around 7am every morning. However, for the past month I've been going to sleep earlier (9 pm) and waking up earlier (5 am). So . . . Should I take my prednisone earlier? To clarify, I'm down to 7.5 mg (8 and 7 on alternating days) and I want to wake up my adrenals

Possible GCA and Treatment Questions
I have been diagnosed with PMR for 4 years and have been on prednisone the whole time. I have learned to reduce slowly because I will flare if I move too quickly. Recently I have been on 2mg a day for the last 6 months feeling good and ready to move to a lower mg. I am an active 69 yr old and walk

1 year Anniversary off Pred
June 2019 got diagnosed in the Emergency Room with PMR and prescribed 80 mg / day Prednisone. Mid-late September 2022 weaned off of Pred literally following the 10 percent rule post 10 mg / d, even going so far as cutting 1 mg in quarters to be able to do 0.25 mg decreases as I got below 3 mg / d. Took

Flare while tapering--need guidance
I have been on prednisone for about 2 1/2 years. I recently got down to 8 mg a day for about 3 months with NO PAIN (oh the bliss...). I went to 7.5 mg about 3 1/2 weeks ago and am having a major flare. I know it has been discussed a lot on here, but I can't find a concise summary of how to deal with

Latest visit to my Physio, part 2.
One month on from my joint physio appointment, my usual Rheumatology Physiotherapist, and the Spinal Physiotherapist. My post a month ago, "Latest visit to my Physio", explained that it didn't go very well when the Spinal Physio asked what dose of Pred I was on. She wanted me to reduce 1mg per month

advice on not taking meds for a day
hi me again, can anyone advise me on this. I have a gastroscope booked for tomorrow with sedation. I had a pre assessment today and they had no idea what GCA is and was going to Google it. 🙈 They have told me not to take my steroid’s tomorrow and it will not matter. I’ve tried to contact the the rheumatologist

PMR resurgence
I’ve just finished a course of antibiotics for a bladder infection so am going for a fresh set of bloods, urine and poo today to try to establish if PMR has returned. It certainly feels like it! Since completing a 950km bike ride in France over 11 days I have been absolutely floored. I started

???Flare ..or not ?
Good afternoon, So been down to 5mg Prednisolone for over 2 months now for PMR and seem to go up and down in terms of aches in my ribs , shoulders and hips. They are not severe and would be more than manageable on their own but it’s the awful fatigue . Two weeks ago I actually felt completely normal

Odd thyroid test results
I also belong to the PMRAuk group as I was diagnosed with PMR mid 2020. I also have hypothyroidism dating back to mid 1980s. I recently took one more step down to 3mg Prednisone after being on it for over 3 years and a very long tapering process with a couple of flares to slow things down. But my question
