Flare while tapering--need guidance

I have been on prednisone for about 2 1/2 years. I recently got down to 8 mg a day for about 3 months with NO PAIN (oh the bliss...). I went to 7.5 mg about 3 1/2 weeks ago and am having a major flare. I know it has been discussed a lot on here, but I can't find a concise summary of how to deal with a flare. I know I should increase dose, but how much and for how long? And then what? Thank you so much in advance. 🤗

Add 5mg to the dose where you flared for 7-10 days and then straight back to the last dose you were good at - very simple really!

I’m on my 3rd attempt at reducing from 8mg to 7.5mg. This time I’m doing a very slow reduction of 7.5 one day a week then two days a week etc. So far it’s working but I’m also taking life a bit easier if I can.

I can’t believe how much difference half a milligram can make! Good luck.
