1 year Anniversary off Pred

June 2019 got diagnosed in the Emergency Room with PMR and prescribed 80 mg / day Prednisone. Mid-late September 2022 weaned off of Pred literally following the 10 percent rule post 10 mg / d, even going so far as cutting 1 mg in quarters to be able to do 0.25 mg decreases as I got below 3 mg / d. Took full control from my Rheumy below 5 mg when attempting to do his bidding I had a major flare. To heck with what statistics show, I decided to follow the disease activity and eliminated any further issues. No Adrenal Insufficiency issues either.

Good luck to everyone, be your own advocate, and if you have a Rheumy that is hard core following some paper, discuss with your GP and see if they’ll work with you. The information on this site is more on point and will get you through. Use the doctor to deal with side effects and stay abreast of where you are, but I suggest not giving them Carte Blanche..

I won’t I’ve been following along. Tbh, imho, people would be better off just taking your advice, or at least the doctors should follow you. Everything you’ve ever posted is dead on. Many Rheumys and GPs would probably learn something, if they can put aside their egos.
