Hypothyroidism and depression: salient aspects of pathogenesis and management
This paper makes me ask: How many anti-depressants are you expected to try (and many of them are acknowledged to make things worse to begin with, and require weeks to ramp up and then tail off) before you might, if very lucky, get the chance to try liothyronine (T3)? (And given current GP/endo attitudes

Liothyronine Costs 2012
Further to the discussion on my recent post, the costs as listed by the NHS seem relevant. So here they are! If I have read it right, each 5 microgram Cytomel tablet costs £3.79. And the average prescription is for about 104 tablets - which suggests that for each doctor insisting they be prescribed

T3 Lost in the Post Help needed to Obtain Affordable T3
Hi everyone, As many of us folks here, I have been self medicating, using a combination of Nutri Thyroid and T3. I usually get my T3 on the internet from abroad (edited by Admin). I normally order 3 bottles at a time of 100 tablets each of 25 mcg to make it most economical, as the 3 bottles cost in

Evidence that T3 works - have any real world wide big guns written about this.
I write to ask this after reading Neeta-k blog. written earlier I take Cytomel prescribed by my GP. I am now worried that he is going to say he can't prescribe as I come under Telford NHS. I though that if I went with good written evidence it might just help to fight my case. If not can anyone tell

Seen By The Endo
Well I have been seen by an endocrinologist and to be honest I don't know how I feel. They were very thorough but not convinced all my problems were related to my thyroid. Since I had been given Levo I said it was like I was being poisoned. My bloods were taken and I am going to get my results soon and

NHS GP in Guildford, Surrey willing to prescribe T3?
Hi I get on very well with my GP but he is unwilling to prescribe T3 (along with T4) as he has no experience of the drug. For the last 3 months or so, I have had a prescription from my endo who isn't keen either but he agreed to let me have it as a trial. Because it's a consultant's prescription
