Add more t4 and quit t3 ?
I just got my test results back , I'm on levothyroxine 75mcg/ 5 days a week and 100mcg 2/days a week. I also take 3mcg of Cytomel. My body can't handle a higher dose of Cytomel. It makes me very anxious. I am wondering if I should go back to T4 only, maybe a bit more? (I must add that there were

Panic Attacks while taking Cytomel
I feel like I’m going insane. Ever since my dr put me in5mg of Cytomel to add to the .88mcg of Synthroid I feel like I’m going crazy. It’s been 6 months now. Has anyone else experienced this aweful side effect and did the panic/anxiety attack quit once stopped.

mixing different t3 meds
I was taking cytomel for 6 years. Tsh went successfully down, but I never could reach normal ft3 because of my poor adrenals. Now when my thyroid worsened, tsh went from 0 to 4,5, anti TPO increased and anti TG appeared though never had them before, ft4 at lowest and ft3 aroung middleof the range. I

weight gain with low TSH?
Hi! Just got my blood work back, normal range T3 and T4 but bdl for TSH. Feeling a little sluggish and tired, no tolerance to COLD, getting sick a lot and consistently gaining weight over the past 4 months. Just some background, I got my thyroid removed 2 years ago due to graves disease. I've been

cytomel and food
this is likely a silly question, but do the same rules apply to cytomel as synthroid when it comes to taking on an empty stomach? My synthroid bottle has a warning on it about not taking it with iron or magnesium and taking an hour away from food or drink. My cytomel doesn't have the same warning. Can

What could cause such dramatic weight gain
I have currently been on .1 mg Synthroid and 5 mcg Cytomel for three months, and while the blue lips, freezing cold and fatigue are gone, my legs are super swollen and hard, my "weight" is up 20 pounds in two months (unexplained by diet / lifestyle). Nutrients of importance are almost optimal and still

Splitting Cytomel Pills
does anybody have a secret for splitting cytomel? The pills just seem to disintegrate when I try to use my pill splitter. I saw reference to someone quartering their cytomel and I have no clue how you would manage that!

T4/T3 struggle
I’m writing this because I can’t seem to lose weight since I was diagnosed/put on medication 2 years ago. I was at least 15kg less before medication. I keep gaining despite eating clean. I am on 75mcg levo and about 3mcg of Cytomel. (I weigh 88kg) I gained most of the weight since I started Cytomel

Needing advice/suggestions re tweaking NDT
Hello everyone: Hope you’re all doing as well as can be. So, I’m presently taking 90 Erfa + 25 Synthroid, all at once upon waking. I need to make some changes because I’ve lost half the hair on my head, gained 7 lbs and can’t loose the weight, diet has not changed. Been on NDT for the past 2-3 years

Dr added more T3 and labs show no change, what happened?
Hi everyone, I finally after having Hashis for over 30 years found a great dr when I moved, who is willing to work with me and disregard TSH. She took me off my previous combo of 100 mcg synthroid and 5 mcg cytomel and started me on120 mcg of NP Thyroid back in October. It was a great help

SIDE EFFECTS FROM HYPO MEDS
Anyone else out there who’s resistant to all the hypothyroid meds they’ve tried? Over the last year I’ve tried Synthroid, Synthroid with Cytomel, Erfa, Erfa with Synthroid, and compounded NDT - which is pretty much all we have available to us in Canada. They all increase my hypo symptoms and give

Thoughts on Expired NDT?
Hi I have found a stash of expired NDT, and some expired Cytomel, and some expired NutriAdrenal supplements. Plus other supplements. They all stem from this struggle which started years ago. What do we think about expired NDT? How long after the expiry date would you still use it for? The same

Liothyronine OTC in Thailand
helvella: I have an update for your file "Thyroid Hormone Medicines.pdf" I am currently in Thailand and was able to purchase Liothyronine here. New Thyroid Results - Conversion Issue?
Hi, After an emotional Thyroid rollercoaster these past couple years (post partial thyroidectomy 12/2/21 in combination with an Endo who doesn't believe in compounded medication), I finally seem to be settling into a medication and dose that works okay. I'd have to say that I'm still a bit tired and

Effect of thyroid meds on adrenals
I have been on levothyroxine for 2 years, numbers were good but wasn't converting well so I added a bit of Cytomel, 3 mcg. I felt ok, but not great. I tried to increase the Cytomel dose to 5 mcg but it made me sleepy all day. I finally lost weight and my face looked really good. Maybe I should have continued

Is there any correlation between low thyroid hormones & spinal stenosis
Hi, Just curious. Was just diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis. I believe it has been going on for years & reasons to believe possibly not acquired but congenital. I know thyroid issues do not cause it & if there is a congenital aspect to mine of course it is not the reason. But researching any links

Synthroid vs Cytomel's effect on TSH Suppression
For the last 6 weeks I haven't felt well, but it took until 4 days ago to realize that the individual symptoms that have been having were related and were a reappearance of hypothyroid symptoms.
