More confused: Advice re: low ft4 and high ft3!
Hi All Following the Genova results of a low ft4 11.7 (range 10 -22) and high ft3 6.9 (range 0.5 - 6.0) no antibodies and low rt3 which is great, plus slowly rising TSH now at 2.8 (range 0.4 - 6.0) - I wrote to Dr M in Wales for her reflections. Before we knew about the ft3/rt3 figures she had

Liothyronine (T3) Prescriptions 2007 - 2012 (England)
This evening I had reason to check on the amount of Liothyronine (T3) prescribed over the past few years. The rate of prescription of liothyronine is rising. At least according to the NHS' Prescription Cost Analysis (which happens to accord with my perception): 2007 2,871,700 2008 2,938,400 2009

Phased return to work almost over.....
Hi everyone! Thought id write an update. Ive been on a phased return to work as a midwife over the last 6 weeks. Since starting the t3/t4 combo i had started to feel slightly better, much brighter mentally ( though memory is still poor) and my clinical signs became much more stable. I did still

Palpitations and irregular pulse - why?
First thing in the morning my blood pressure is usually around 109/58, and pulse 60 or 61, temperature varies from 35.6 to 36.6 and never higher. In the afternoons and evenings sometimes I have sudden racing pulse for up to a minute or two (rarely more) and then it stops momentarily and re-starts

Might be a daft question....
hello all! Received new bottle of Cytomel and have started taking my usual dose of 55mcg in divided doses. All day today I've had a pulse rate of 103 ... Could this be due to the new dose being more potent ? Does the potency wear off ? I've felt very tired and thought it was time for an increase in

Cytomel?
I've heard that Cytomel is an excellent supplement to take with NDT to help with your T3 levels. I'm taking 5 grains of nature throid a day (I have no thyroid at all and have been upping my dose until I feel somewhat normal) I take three in the morning one at lunch and one before bed. How much Cytomel

How can I get my Doctor to prescribe T3
How can I get my Doctor to prescribe T3 - I am currently importing Cytomel (King) from the US but the cost is £133 for 100 x 25mcg and then the postoffice stick another £27 on top - I am willing to use an online overseas pharmacy but am a bit worried about card details being abused and the quality of

Why am I now having to split T4 doses
Due to heart pounding/skipping issues I was taken off of T3 two weeks ago and am now on 75mcg's T4 but I am now having to split my T4 doses into three, taking 25mcg's at a time, for my body to be able to tolerate it. If I take it all at once my heart starts racing again. My pulse before taking just

Which thyroid hormone is best for us?
I thought I would post this as I feel it might be significant - or not. This was posted on the STTM FB forum yesterday. dremilykane.com/2005/10/02/... The part I find interesting is this and I wonder just how significant it is as we're always being told that if NDT isn't working it could be our

T4 out - T3 in. Am I recovering?
I promised to let you know how I was getting on having started T3 (Triiodothyronine) only treatment for my Hypothyroidism. My first blogs tell you how it all began almost two years ago. This site, you guys, Dr. Peatfield, Paul Robinson are my inspiration and support. I have no official support yet

Purchase Cytomel online?
I have been on 100mg of levothyroxine for about 3 years. I feel awful, my doctor isnt bothered in the slightest and as my tests are always 'normal' doesnt really listen to me much. I would like to purchase cytomel online, does anyone know where I can get some from?

END OF ROAD WITH NHS
I have a long story where in the past I saw Dr P and ended up taking 2 Grains of Armour Thyroid and 2 Cytomel, plus adrenal supplements. The snag was that I didn't have official diagnosis. The only way of cutting the controversy was to do without tablets for a month and make myself ill. I was lucky in
