NHS GP in Guildford, Surrey willing to prescribe T3?

Hi

I get on very well with my GP but he is unwilling to prescribe T3 (along with T4) as he has no experience of the drug. For the last 3 months or so, I have had a prescription from my endo who isn't keen either but he agreed to let me have it as a trial. Because it's a consultant's prescription, I can only get a month's supply from the hospital pharmacy. With the shortage, my endo has now recommended that I increase my T4 and not worry about T3. I am concerned that if I go back down that route, I will no longer be able to get T3 in the future and have emailed my endo to ask if he would look into ordering Cytomel on a named patient basis. I am not very hopeful so wonder if anyone knows of a NHS GP in Guildford who is willing to prescribe T4/T3. I'd be very grateful for your help. BTW, I have been reading this website for only a couple of months and have found it very helpful. Thank you so much to everyone on here.

Hi Rod

Thank you, but I was under the impression the Thyroid Uk list only had private GPs' names - is that not the case?

To be honest, I don't get to see it! But I thought it had several doctors who operate within the NHS some of the time.
