Black Stools are Scaring Me
I've just finished a 28 day course of 2 Naproxen daily (on 16th Sept) for Sciatica. Never had it before but I my heart goes out to anyone suffering from such pain. I've been passing black stools since then and I'm really scared that I have stomach bleeding. I see black stools are mentioned in the side

Lansoprazole and Weight Gain
Is anyone taking Lansoprazole (I have been prescribed them as using Naproxen long term for arthritis pain)? If so, has anyone gained weight since taking it?

Reflux pain ( indigestion)
This is my second year of Prednisolone ( with 4 month gap, PMR returned) last year was incredibly straightforward monthly tapering down to nil no real side effects. This year, tapering then back up due to pain. Now on 8 mg. I have been taking Omeprazole (20mg) but started to have severe reflux pain .

New Here and In Some Pain
Hello... Although I am active on other HU forums it is my first time here. Arthritis runs through the female line of the family. My late mother had a replacement hip, and arthritis in theower spine and various joints. My sister now suffers similarly with arthritis in the hip and lower bank. Eleven years

I haven't posted for a long time but feel desperate.
I was diagnosed with GCA (Temporal Arteritis) in February 2017 and have been on a see-saw of medications ever since. I have a wonderfully supportive GP and see a rheumatology consultant regularly, every few months. I was started initially on 60 mgs prednisolone by the hospital and then the doses have

Asthma and Migraine Treatment
Prior to my recent asthma deterioration my GP prescribed Naproxen for my migraines. I explained that I’ve never had any problems with Ibuprofen so I was happy with that. Now after this recent nasty flare I am reluctant to take it as I don’t know if it will trigger an attack. For those of you out there

Laura and the DICE Trial - Be Careful What You Wish For!
Well, I have been sick as a dog since Thursday afternoon. Basically the same side effects I suffered with first line, except, thank goodness, no bone pain! Just terrible debilitating fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite, achy joints, sore throat and head ache. But what makes this even harder is that

New member requiring advice
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR and have been on 15mg Prednisolone for 5 weeks together with Omeprazole, Adcal and Alendronic Acid. Any advice on do's and don'ts would be really helpful, in particular about diet as I don't want to gain weight. Incidentally I find that taking the Prednisolone

Medication
I have had a bit of a week of it!! I started feeling unwell and totally off my food.My urine was also dark. A few days later I developed a fever. The Health Centre sent me up to A&E with a suspected kidney infection. They said up there that it was a urine infection and sent me home with Trimethoprim.

Skin changes
I was diagnosed with S.L.E APS Arthritis and Raynaud’s when I was 18 I’m now 29. A good few months ago I noticed that my skin colour is changing. Some parts are darker than others. I thought to begin with I was imagining it but it’s actually really noticeable especially parts of my face. I’m due to see

Discontinuing B12 injections.
My mother had PA. According to parietal cell and intrinsic factor tests, I don't. My B12 was low but at the time I was taking omeprazole. If I had a blood test now, how long would I need to wait before having another one to determine whether I need injections for life or not? Can high B12 cause paraesthesia

4am and crying in pain!
Just need to vent my frustration somewhere, and here seems to be the safest place! I’m not really after advice, but if there is any, I’m all ears! I’m an Early Years Practitioner, working 3 days a week in a school based nursery. I am a week and a half back into work after a wonderful 5 week break
