COPD and CPAP
I have a question relating to CPAP use and COPD. If you use a CPAP, I would like to know if you feel it is helping you with your COPD and day-time breathing and satuaration levels? Do you feel there is any relationship between the two:? If you were anxious about using the CPAP, how did you get over

Herbs for depression
I would like to take a herbal anti-depressant for a while. I am on 75 mcg levo at the moment. Does anyone have any advice on a good herb and any counter indications for levo? I have heard taking St. John's Wort can be a bit tricky.

The CPAP machine makes my daytime breathlessness worse
Hi everyone. I've been using the CPAP machine, with oxygen attached, for just over a week. So far so good. I have breathlessness and I'm awaiting pulmonary testing. However, I've noticed my daytime breathlessness is now much worse, so much so, that I cannot even walk a few steps without becoming

A horrible, drained feeling upon waking up from a nap.
My breathlessness started about a year ago, which I ignored and I ended up in hospital with suspected heart failure at Christmas. My doctor put me on oxygen at night which I now use in conjunction with a CPAP machine, nights only. I'm still awaiting pulmonary testing, even though the hospital cardiologist

Heart Failure/Atrial Fibrillation medicine from Foxgloves. Once a mainstay heart drug, but superseded by safer drugs that extend life.
[i]'In the modern era, digoxin was considered, for many years, the mainstay of treatment for people with heart failure. However, this has changed over the last decade as it has been replaced as first-line treatment with other medicines which are generally safer to use and known to improve patient survival

I was also on low dosage Morphine (

) but I stopped it last week in case it was masking and pain from the hot spots - so far mostly imaginary twinges. The oncology consultants will only give "months or years" type of prognosis, but at least it's not "weeks or months".

Why am I so breathless all the time and for so long?
Can someone help me, please. I have been breathless since July, 2015. Things got bad at Christmas and I was admitted to hospital for 6 days with suspected heart failure. My blood pressure was very high and I had badly swollen ankles, legs, hands and tummy. However, the cardiologist said my heart

Living with COPD
Hi I am a 71 year old grandma. As a child I suffered with asthma and it magically disappeared when I started smoking. In those days even doctors smoked. At age 65 I began to experience alergies and shortness of breath again. This progressed to COPD. I use two inhalers Spiriva & Symbicort and are on 24

St John’s Wort, the flower that can treat depression - and can interfere with other drugs INCLUDING Ibrutinib!

They also found fewer people taking St John’s Wort discontinued their treatment. This was due to

I have been taking msm for several weeks and have added 1000mcg B12 in the last week and yesterday I had a few irregular heart beats (missing a beat) and was very tired. Could it be the B12. I have an underactive thyroid which is being treated with 125mcg of Levothyroxine.

I have in the last few weeks started taking msm which seemed ok and in the last week to 10 days B12 at a dose of 1000mcg a day under the tongue. I didn,t feel too good today, tired slow and bit irregular heartbeat at times. Could it be the B12. Oh and I sometimes use magnesium oil.

~Glory be - low then high blood pressure whilst tapering?
Any experiences on the following - much appreciated in advance. Reducing hydrocortisone a fraction further as requested by Rheumy from 15mg (equivalent to 3 mg Pred) down to 12.50mg Hydrocort which = 2.5 Pred. This is my third attempt. Less than 2 days into taper breathlessness appeared again (a feature

At the end of my tether - should I get treatment in Europe?
Hi everyone - I've found this forum and it is fabulous. Well done and thank you - and sorry for the long post. I've been dealing with so-called subclinical hypothyroidism for more than three years. It runs in my family - mum, sister and maternal grandmother all diagnosed and on full meds for years.

Linda has pointed out cold pressed virgin avocado oil for frying with, it has a high smoke point. I need to check out the prices now.
Ok checked the prices, seems to be about double the price of my virgin cold pressed coconut oil. It is for sale on ebay via Argos, so will stick to my coconut oil. I know that Linda has issues with the MCTs in it though. So here is the link:- http://superfoodprofiles.com/avocado-oil-online
