Can you help with understanding pain-meds doctor?
My doctors have me on

Continus
, the slow-release morphine which is fine Except that my body does not like it at all. It affects my balance, mood and I have strange dreams even during the day, slightly tinged with fear and paranoia. I’ve read others who’ve experienced the same.

Worried about withdrawing from DHC Continus
Due to a spinal injury some 20+ yrs ago, I was put on Dihydrocodeine Continus, 60mg tabs 3 times a day. GP has just been reissuing the prescription for the last 20 odd yrs without really discussing these meds with me, or about changing for another drug. Now after 20yrs they just suddenly stop the prescription

Still no joy from Doctor 🤦
After sending my private blood results to Dr refused to increase levo had phone appointment, kept insisting TSH suppressed & danger of osteoporosis. I tried to keep calm to explain my thoughts & where I'd research my information. Dr then asked which lab I'd used & where was it..... Quite upset/annoyed

I was on here quite a bit after a total knee replacement two years ago. Nothing much seemed to help that wasn't either an opoid or some other harsh drug. I decided to load up on Fenugreek water each day (one quart from simmering 2 Tablesp. seed in one quart of water, cooling, then straining-seeds can

The 'Brain Energy Gap' and its possible implication on the progress of PD.
Has anyone else seen the work of Professor Stephen Cunnane on the 'brain energy gap' and its implications for PD, Alzheimers and cognitive impairment? I've put a link to one of his talks below, but to summarise: - Cognitive impairment and brain health in PD, Alzheimers, is due in part to an 'brain

hyperbaric chamber as treatment for PMR? Marine collagen peptides anyone ?
I met a lady shopping today.. she told me both she and her friend both in their 60’s have terrible pains in the arms and shoulders. She can’t bear to move them above chest height - and said her gp was totally puzzled as to what it might be ! We discussed PMR, tests such as CRP and ESR and of course this

Oxygen therapy
I have been referred for this and told I would get a visit at home. Just had first chest infection and inpatient stay, 3 days. Antibiotics worked super well, plus excellent ambulance crew. What is involved with oxygen at home, is it a small mobile cylinder? Do I take it everywhere. How does it work

AF triggered by sleep apnea
Hello - My first post! Question to others here experiencing paroxysmal AF, has the use of a CPAP for sleep apnea been enough to stop triggering your AF episodes? My cardiologist thinks sleep apnea is the trigger for me (sleep study confirmed I have mild apnea). It's been a long journey to this

How to handle going off mirapex
My neurologist decided to take me off mirapex. This is a new neurologist since mine retired. She specializes in sleep problems. I also have sleep apnea. I dont know why she decided to take me off mirapex. When she told me I was in a state of shock. I also take oxycodone. She is taking me off

Possible Anoxic Brain Injury
hello, my dad suffered a cardiac arrest which he was down for ~25 min before they brought him back. I know there is possible ABI and he was put on a ventilator and medically induced coma. He has been off sedation since 6:15am (April 12, 2024) and opening his eyes. There is some tracking and he does look

I don't recall seeing this mentioned on here but was wondering if anyone had experiences of being discharged home with Oxygen after an ICU stay. Looking for feedback regarding Asymptomatic Afib
I'm fairly new to this forum and I already feel at home. It's very refreshing to find an online community whose members are so kind, understanding and generous. By way of introduction, I'm a 69-year-old male living in Connecticut. My Afib history is as follows: Diagnosed with Afib by PCP - 8/9/

Settling in on HHD, the good, bad and ugly….
It has been a while since I have posted about my journey with HHD. It has been five months. Big difference from when I started. A week ago, Friday was our first time totally alone. Up to this point, I had a med tech who was coming to make sure I cannulated ok and got on. She had stopped cannulating me
