Beta Blocker and antidepressant interaction
I previously posted that I was going to be starting an antidepressant, Wellbutrin. I have been on it for almost two weeks. I cannot really comment about it as I fear I’m having it negatively interact with another medication. I have already reached out to a doctor to discuss this but I was told he may

Pace and Ablate?
Does pace and ablate mean a cardiac abliation and a pace maker? I had a cardiac abliation end of March. Now my heart rate is all over the place. Take metoprolol tartrate 75mg 2 times daily and Eliquis 5mg 2 times daily and fosprinil 20mg once daily. Does a pacemaker control afib and then Yiu have to

Vision Disturbances with Metoprolol?
Hi All, quick question: Since I've been on Metoprolol at end of January I've had three episodes where my vision has been affected. It usually is a kind of jagged/corrugated disturbance to one side of my visual field that moves as my eyes move, so I can't look at it. I have it right now, and it's a quite

Happy to be alive
No a fib since march, cardiologist is reluctantly letting me quit flec and just take it as pip, staying on day xarelto and low dose metoprolol. 3 days ago, I was nearly run off the highway going 65 mph. My only choice was collision or hit the road shoulder. I took the shoulder and managed to not over

Ablation tomorrow...
Hi everyone My EP has slotted me in tomorrow as the meds aren’t regulating my afib / a flutter and general atrial tachycardia (this is what the EP calls it)... so rate has been over 100 for the last 4 weeks - peaking at 180. Even with digoxin 500 x 2 and metoprolol and Bisoprolol... I’ve also had

Daily meds vs PIP meds
Will try and make long story short: 21/2 yr of PAF, started with sotalol, cardiologist wouldnt hear my complaints so after 4 mo saw EP, who happily put me on flecainite/ metoprolol/ xarelto as needed. Only 4-5 episodes in 21/2 yr, no ER or hospitals needed, meds converted me at home.( plus life style

Dizzy Spells
I have PAF, sometimes going five months between episodes. I take Metoprolol, and have Flecainide as a PIP as needed. Recently I had an episode of irregular heart beats, but my monitor did not register it as AF, but I kept having dizzy spells. It settled after about two hours and I have been OK since.

Did or didn't I take my medication this morning
I take 25mg metoprolol and 5mg Eliquis twice a day for aqib, this morning had a lot on my mind and couldn't remember if I took it or not, is it safer to not take the chance of taking it twice, or take it with the possibility you didn't, I wound up deciding not to take it and see how the day goes

ALWAYS get a second opinion
I had been seeing the same cardiologist for 8 yrs for symptomatic afib. My afib has gotten steadily more frequent until now I have been cardioverted 3 times in the last 4 weeks. My cardiologist set me up with his EP to discuss cryo-ablation and I was not impressed. After some research I found the guy

Flecainide is my friend
Just wanted to report a good thing. After two happy years on only PIP, I had a really rough a fib event that lasted maybe 12 hours and threw in some flutter while it was trying to quit... so EP and cardiologist tag teamed me into agreeing to take daily meds.. think about ablation. I cannot multitask,

Hello...I'm a newbie here. Seeking Tinnitus help.
Hello all. I found your site after doing a search for Tinnitus on the NRAS page for Rheumatoid Arthritis/Rheumatoid Disease. I have had Tinnitus since December 2017/January 2018. I am seeing an ENT, but have only had one appointment so far. I am scheduled for a hearing test at my next appointment.

Advice needed!
Hi my name is Cindy and I'm a 59 year old great grandmother. I badly need some advice from people who are also dealing with afib. Afib for 6 years and have RVR. Am now on Xaralto as I've had 3 CVA's thanks to afib. Luckily mild ones. Can't seem to find a medication to control afib and keep pulse and

Pip to daily meds
For 2 yr I have been estatic to manage well with pip, last episode 11 mo apart... until last nite's 2 1/2 hr episode, only a month apart. So EP is now saying flecainide and metoprolol twice daily. Not a big suprise, just disappointing. Ironically, these last few days Ive been active on here re pro/ con

Flecainide as PIP
Just an update post cryoablation 7 weeks ago. The first couple of weeks had 4 bouts of AF ranging from 6 to 13 hours and another long bout this week! I saw my EP today and even though we are still in the blanking period it seems likely that I will have another ablation in the near future due to the suboptimal

AFIB, Eliquis and Gout
I was diagnosed with permanent AFIB in October 2017 after my resting heart rate skyrocketed to 140 bpm. I am taking Metoprolol and Eliquis for treatment. My resting heart rate is now 65 bpm according to my Fitbit. I have no symptoms other than feeling slightly tired sometimes. I have suffered with

Headaches and AF
In the scheme of things, this is not a very important problem, but I have been increasingly getting headaches, which is new for me. My query: is there any particular food/diet element that could cause them? I have been on all my meds for quite some time - rivaroxaban and digoxin - one year +, metoprolol

Low heart rate AFIB
My younger sibling was diagnosed with AFIB and is on Eliquis and Metoprolol. She has frequent episodes, but always converts. Her heart rate never goes above 90 when she is in them. Is this true AFIB? Because of this she never communicates with her EP because it doesn't bother her. Is this damaging
