Pacemaker & daily meds for AFib, what can I expect?
I am interested to hear from anyone with experience about having a pacemaker installed and then daily AFib medications - I think I will be given something called Flecainide. As my HR falls into the 30's and 40's I can't take anything daily, the pacemaker will address that. Right now I have AFib attacks

Irregular heart rate with Amlodipine
Dr. changed my medication from Losartan HCTZ because of too many negative side effects. Now taking 5mg Amlodipine for past several weeks. Since starting Amlodipine have been getting occasional readings of irregular heart rate when I take my blood pressure - I can feel them, as well as palpitations.

Ablation and asymptomatic/persistent AFIB
I am 65 year old physically active male. I have had persistent AFIB for 10 months and the only impact to my lifestyle is the inability to cycle at the previous pace - a state I have come to terms with. I have had two unsuccessful cardioconversions. My doctor says I have two options 1. Remain on Metoprolol

Afib only in late afternoon
To give a little medical history first, I was born 2 months early and had a murmur that never closed up. Until I was injured at work at the age of 36 and had to take a lot of pain killers etc I never had any heart problems. Age 39 I had an ASD surgery to have the hole closed up. Again I was good

Virus and Afib
Virus and Afib Has anyone seen a connection with this virus and increased episodes of Afib? I’ve had 6 or so breakthrough afib episodes over the past month, every several days that last a day or two. I have no CV or sugar issues. Pending an ablation that would have been now, I’m on amiodarone, also

Advice concerning treatment and supplements
Hi again! I am struggling to find posts about what kind of ADT-treatment that could be least harmful to my husband who has got coronary heart disease. He is on babyaspirin, atorvastatin and metoprolol. He has got a rising PSA and 2 lymph node mets. We will ask for radiation of these. I have heard that

Can’t Seem to Tolerate Any Drugs!
Hi again, Just an update & a question. I started Sotalol on Sunday and after having chest pain, shortness of breath & a pulse of 42 for the past 2 nights, I called my GP this morning who sent me to A&E. Had ECG, X-ray & bloods. They eventually let me home after stopping the Sotalol, and giving me

Hi all Well I’m new to BP meds having started on the 21/03 due to a hypertension crisis that took me to the emergency room and it scared the life out of me. I am now on 5 mg ramipril and 5 mg amlodipine as well as metoprolol. It seemed to be going well and my readings dropped to between 115 ( morning

Stopping metoprolol before ablation
For those of you who have had to stop your beta blockers before your procedure, did you taper off or just stop? I’m terrified of not being on my beta blockers even for a few days even though my EP reassured me I will be ok just uncomfortable. (The ablation if for tachycardia and frequent PVCs)

Still having palpitations on beta blockers.
last march 2019, my arrythmia started getting a lot worse, out of nowhere. i've had bouts of palpitations since my twenties, however in the past they were very short lived and mild, and not very troubling. and also not very frequent but last year, i started getting them every day, all day. flutters

April 2 RF Ablation set
Hi All, I am going in for an RF ablation on April 2, I was offer April 1 but passed. I am unsure about having it and I passed on having this done in October of last year as I had only had two known episodes of afib that required conversion prior. I went back into afib on 1-4-2020 and have been in it

I went into AFib a year ago during cataract surgery. In fact as soon as the drops were put in. I've never had a history of high blood pressure etc. I ended up in the hospital for three days. I was released with ectopics and put on Xarelto, metoprolol, and another heart med. They tried cardioversion but

28 Year Old with Afib
Hi Everyone, I'm 28, live in Dallas, TX and no prior history of any type of heart condition. I had my very first and only episode of Afib back on Feb.2 2020 which put me in the ER for 24hrs on which I converted on my own back to Sinus Rhyme after 12 hours. Before my episode, I was what you would call

Conversion via Spontaneous electric shock ?
My Sunday night episode of flutter got worse. (After ONE Gin). I took a Beta blocker (50 mg metoprolol) at 11am Monday but the pulse kept going at 150 beats per minute all day. At 5pm I took another meto.. The palpitations were not big, but I had no detectable pulse at my neck or wrists…I believe
