I have PAF, sometimes going five months between episodes. I take Metoprolol, and have Flecainide as a PIP as needed.
Recently I had an episode of irregular heart beats, but my monitor did not register it as AF, but I kept having dizzy spells. It settled after about two hours and I have been OK since. BP was normal 179/75 and pulse 61.
I am fit, not overweight, not diabetic, and take Apixaban. I have never had chest pain, swollen ankles or any other symptoms.
Anyone else had similar?

I would discuss with your doctor. Your BP is too high( systolic at 179) if that is your normal. You may have had AF but with lowish pulse which Monitor doesn't recognise- or your meds might need review. best to be safe than sorry
There are many possible reasons for dizzy spells. Some are random, some are linked with other conditions and other medicines, some are psychological. Keep a detailed health diary. Change one of the factors/variables at a time. Take more care when crossing the road. Avoid driving. A doctor is needed to see if there are any obvious underlying conditions.
I experienced some wonderfully warm and pleasant weather (30C) the other day and I had a long shift at work. The moment I felt dizzy I grabbed some water and drunk it, and the dizziness went.
Hi Polly a couple of weeks ago I had a number of dizzy spells and wondered if it was because on occasion my pulse is a bit a low due to taking beta blockers, a necessity to help control my blood pressure and AF. They disappeared after a couple of days.
I think we can have a tendency to attribute every little thing to our medication or AF. I had dizzy spells a couple of years ago as did a number of work colleagues so it was probably a virus.
As you are not still experiencing the dizziness I would make a note of it in case it reoccurs then forget about it. If it returns I would discuss it with your doctor .
I agree with Rosy, BP is a bit high and worth a discussion with your GP.
