Bisiprolol

I was on metoprolol for 6 years for paroxysmal af , after my last 6 monthly attacks the hospital changed me to bisoprolol - had no irregular heart beets but one minute my pulse is low the next with hard work or exercise it goes really high - never had that with metoprolol - been on it for 10 days 2.5mg any idea's . No other side effects other than i was less tired on metoprolol 50mg. Forgot to add no AF twinges with bisoprolol so it seems to control the AF better.

Hello Big..... and welcome to the forum. Not sure where you are from, but it’s a Bank holiday weekend here in the UK, so the forum is fairly quiet. We are not medically trained, so we can only draw on our own experiences, but Bisoprolol is the most regularly used beta blocker in the UK and it works well for many, but causing tiredness is often mentioned as one of it’s side effects. It can take a while to get the dose right as everyone reacts differently to AF, so if you have concerns about heart rate, it would be better to discuss with your doctor. It can take a while for the body to adjust to a new drug, but from what you have said, it seems to be working quite well.....hope this helps.
