Recovery of Testosterone
We all have heard about how long it takes to recover testosterone after you stop ADT. You probably also heard how age affects recovery time. The older you are the longer it takes and the T may never recover. The type of ADT you take can also affect recovery time - shot versus pill. I am 78 and I have

Sciatica
I went off ADT 9 months ago after 6 months of Elegard depot treatment following prostate radiation. I know that many of the side effects of ADT can persist months and even years after stopping Elegard (Lupron). But I seem to have developed new symptoms (breast sensitivity and sciatica) 6 months after

Stopping Lupron
Today I’ve had my next medical check. PSA still undetectable after RT IMRT/VMAT to prostate bed and pelvic floor accompanied by 24 months of Lupron. This was my third regimen after DXed in 11/2017, for more details pls refer to my bio. I will now stop Lupron, let’s see what the future will bring.

PC no longer castrate resistant
Hello all, my latest pet/ct scan indicates my PC is no longer castrate resistant as there is new disease growth in my lungs. Largest lesion is 2.5 centimeters. I'm no longer taking xtandi, so it can be "washed out" of my system prior to new treatment, however I'm still getting quarterly lupron shots

MSK Consult Today
Thanks to everyone who has given me excellent advice regarding my husband’s pca recurrence. Today we met with an MSK uro oncologist for a second opinion. He completely agreed and supported the plan of radiating the high pelvic nodes (including the lower abdominal nodes along the bifurcation) and slightly

Do I need an Oncologist?
Originally had PSA test that came back 28+ and was referred to Urologist. I was not interested in Surgery so the Urologist referred me to a Radiation Oncologist. After the radiation treatments were over I went back to the Urologist to continue the Lupron treatments. My last visit with the Radiation Team

Gleason 9, s/practice RP. PSA UP to 0.2 8 months later. PSMA showed 4 hot spots all in pelvis. Started on zytiga and lupron same time as radiation started. PSA has remained < 0.04 for 17 months now. Considering the aggressive nature of my cancer, should I insist on a scan even when PSA <0.04 or

Update Castrate Resistant Metastatic Cancer
My metastatic prostate cancer was diagnosed castrate resistant on November 1 with PSA of 0.8, which was doubling in about two months while on Lupron. On November 10 I started Abiraterone + prednisone. By December 1 my PSA dropped to 0.44 in 22 days on Abiraterone. In the next 35 days it went down to

New Developments in My Husband's PCA Journey
Hello, I wanted to provide an update on my husband's progression and, hopefully, some of you may have some knowledge to share or have a similar profile. His psa has risen from <0.04 since RP for Stage 3b to 0.06 in 9/23. A recheck a week later showed a rise to 0.1. This was followed by a drop to <.04

PSA suppression
My PSA lows tend to be around 3.3, and it occurs to me that some might think it odd that I don't drive it lower. I think it is very common for men on ADT to draw too much comfort from a significant PSA reduction, if not a near-zero PSA. I have witnessed men misinterpret a dramatic drop in PSA as

Update On Eclipse Trial-another failure. Has LU-177 worked for anyone?
In 2010 at the age of 59, I had Da Vinci surgery with a Gleason 4+5=9 and PSA of 9. Post surgical biopsy showed all margins clear with no seminal vesicle involvement and Gleason post-op score was changed to a 4+3=7. Subsequent PSA was non-detectable as tested every three months for the first two years

Long term ADT bone loss mitigation tips?
My post RP BCR was diagnosed 8 months ago when they said, "you will be on ADT the rest of your life". I am on Lupron and abiraterone 4 months now. I am taking 1000mg of calcium per day and 2000IU of D3 per day. If I am lucky enough to last years, what else can I do to prevent the loss of bone? Thanks

Rising PSA … Clear PSMA SCAN
My husband sees Dr. Rahul Aggarwal at UCSF. I’m surprised by his treatment plan. hubby has been on Lupron & NUBEQA since April. At first it brought PSA down but now it is up to 6.5 His last PSMA SCAN was in October when PSA was 4.3 Next PSMA scan is mid January. Aggarwal says PSA # is no longer of

Side Effects or Symptoms?
When I started Lupron in November 2018 hot flushes were my primary side effect. Other side effects included locked fingers and Gynecomastia. Occasionally, I had pains in my arms and legs tingling in fingers and toes. In the last few years I complained about sharp pains in the groin. Lately, I developed

Lupron and shrinking penis
I understand that Lupron can cause this side effect. I have been taking injections for 1 year. At this point, the shrinkage is so much that it is almost nonexistent? Has anyone else had this problem and does it go away after stopping Lupron?
