Here's an updated plot of Testosterone recovery time for 50% of men after stopping Lupron ADT, as a function of ADT duration. For ADT durations less than 20 months, the curve is basically linear with a slope = 1.0 (green line), meaning that the Recovery Time for 50% of men is roughly equal to the ADT duration. However, for ADT durations greater than 20 months, the curve turns quadratic (red line), and 50% of men who had ADT of 36 months had to wait 5 years to recover their testosterone (2X the linear prediction). Yikes !
Men shouldn't have to suffer the side effects of low-T after stopping ADT! They should get Testosterone supplementation during this recovery period. This is a safe treatment with no increased risk prostate cancer due to TRT. See many papers by Morgentaler from Harvard School of Medicine.
