10th year
Ten years ago I had my Gleason 9 prostate removed. PSA was .1 for a while. It crept up over .2, and I began taking lupron. The drug brought PSA back down to >.01 for a year or so. As the level started going up again, I received whole pelvis bed radiation, moving PSA to undetectable. After a year or so

Estrogen patch to improve quality of life
Could the men here who use estrogen patches at "just to feel good" levels comment on your experience? Mr. Spouse21 will be getting spot radiation to a single spinal tumor very soon. Thanks to everyone who encouraged that instead of Pluvicto at this time. His two oncologists agreed as did a radiation

How do you know if radiation treatment worked?
I had 25 sessions of radiation to prostate and pelvic area as a precaution and 6 (2 months prior and 4 after radiation)months of Lupron. For 9 months post radiation PSA has been not been detectable and it has now risen to 0.04. T is in the normal range. All other blood works were normal. Meet with

After ADT
Adrenal insufficiency after stopping ADT & steroids. My 72 year old husband had radical, robotic surgery 7 years ago. PSAs were 0 until 2 years ago, then barely detectable. Had the special PET scan, 3 spots lit up in lymph nodes, (in the area, none remote.) Had 6.5 weeks radiation therapy. Had 2 years

Please help us decide on next treatment
Hi, my Dad was diagnosed back in 2021 with stage IV, Gleason 9, oligometastatic. He had 6 weeks of radiation at the time of diagnosis and has been for the past 2.5 years on Abiraterone, Prednisone and Lupron. As I mentioned in my prior post my Dad’s PSA started going up. He had a PSMA Pet scan and it

Should I Add Docetaxel to Lupron and Zytiga?
I have been on Lupron and Abiraterone for most of my almost 12 years of treatment. Triplet therapy was not SOC when I was first dx'd. I am just wondering why, Docetaxel isn't routinely added to those of us who started on doublet therapy before we become resistant to the doublet therapy. My guess is that

What is Your Opinion on Docetaxel Added to Doublet Therapy for Early Oligorecurrent Metaststic M1a Prostate Cancer?
Hello, I have touched on this subject before, but it is something that is nagging at me and giving me some sleepless nights. My husband’s bio is updated for reference. At one year post prostatectomy with Stage 3b, he rose from 0.06 to 0.273 in three mos. At psa of 0.16 , a PSMA scan showed three sub

Why do MO's continue to prescribe Lupron ADT for Castrate-Resistant men?
I've never understood why MO's continue to prescribe Lupron ADT (or equivalent ) for men who are
castrate-resistant (CRPC
). Isn't that the definition of CRPC, namely, that ADT is no longer working for those men? Why continue to prescribe a drug that no longer works and that causes such suffering

question for those who have stopped Lupron after many years of ADT
I have been on Lupron for 8 years with the short-term exception of a high/T clinical trial,( but even during the trial I stayed on Lupron). Anyway I’m undetectable and decided to stop Lupron. 3 months after not getting my shot my T is now a whopping 37. I am curious to hear from some of you who

Waiting for me to die
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Sometimes i get the feeling that friends and family members are waiting for me to die. I was diagnosed stage 4b metastasis in January 2021 and have been on treatment Lupron and Xtandi since April 2021 3 years now. From an outward appearance I don't

ADT IS DONE. NEXT?
Lupron and Zytiga will have completed 2 years of each in June. I've read some continue Lupron for 3 years or longer. How do you know how long to take? Monitor testosterone and PSA how often? 2 or 3 months?

Urinary incontinence in mCRPC
I am looking for help for my 81-year-old father who is mCRPC. He was diagnosed at stage 4 about 18 months ago with mets to 8+ bones including the skull. Summary of the following treatments: Bicalutamide this drug failed in July 2023 and the patient transitioned to Xtandi started in September 2023.

Cancer takes another brave man
My wonderful husband passed away yesterday after fighting the beast for 15 years. Gleason 8 all but one core positive. He was so strong tried so hard, 2 clinical trials radiation, Zytiga, Xofigo, lupron for the entire time. Finally at age 65 his body could take no more, he lost over 40 pounds, no energy

Update April 5, 2024
UPDATE: April 5, 2024 Yesterday was very disappointing as my husbands PSA increased again by 183 points, last month his PSA was 1546 and now it is 1730. All his other CBC results were good. His Alkaline Phosphatase increased 6 points, last month 127 and now 133 but still in range of 40-150. Questioned

Zytiga vs Nubeqa for Triple Therapy
Hi, I've recently received a diagnosis of Stage 4 prostate cancer, which is high volume and hormone-sensitive. I've consulted with 3 oncologist and all recommend triple therapy: Lupron alongside 6 rounds of Docetaxel, plus an ARPI. While two oncologists recommend Nubeqa, one strongly advocates for Zytiga

Did you use Orgovyx with radiation, and did your Medicare Part D or Advantage plan cover it ?
I'm hoping to learn what roadblocks anyone encountered in asking to use Orgovyx instead of Lupron, etc as part of radiation treatment. Resistance from prescribing ROs? Problems with Part D drug coverage ? Advantage plans...Kaiser , etc............that would and wouldn't cover at least some of the $2700

PSMA Scans and False Positives
So I saw my MO yesterday to review my ongoing treatment of Xtandi and Lupron. Been 3 months so far with no real side effects except hot flashes. My PSMA scan showed prostate and one met to sacrum. Prostate treated with 28 rounds of EBRT. MO says since sacrum is so close to prostrate it might have
