My son’s Testosterone results:
Last week I posted my son’s three month PSA test and learned that it was the same as last time <0.10 and now I have the matching testosterone results of 7.0. How good or bad is that? I am unfamiliar with testosterone numbers after all the medicines he’s taken, and radiation. I don’t know what the previous

Radiotherapy for prostate local and retroperitoneal nodes
ADT of lupron and abiraterone has been pretty tolerable so far, almost four months - maybe I got cocky. Started my SBRT 28 fraction 70 Gy radiotherapy four days ago, mild to moderate urinary urgency and some burn started almost immediately. Diarrhea started at night after day four, mild so far. How

Exagerated SE's with second Lupron shot?
Hi!57 yo. Three months after my first lupron shot T was almost zero and SE's manageable. With my second shot at that time I got really down. Headache, pain in tendons and joints, fatigue and terrible mood swings, mostly sadness. My weight training sessions got really hard to get through. I called my

From a Gleason 9 to a clean CT scan in 18 mos.
18 mos ago, my husband was told by his dr. that he "most likely had two or three good years left." (WHY do they say stupid things like that?) I think that a lot of people believe whatever the dr. says and subconsciously program themselves accordingly. I, on the other hand, thought to myself, "We'll

Running in circles
I will try and make this the short version. My husband has advanced prostate cancer 4+5=9 (Gleason 9). One year ago it metastasized to the T9. He had radiation to the spot. In the meantime, he has had severe pain in the neck area. after scans, they said it was from an injury. (he has never had an injury

ADT 's effect on body fat and muscle mass from Life on ADT blog by Richard Wassersug

Well, that pesky lymph node is now no longer PSMA detectable. After 1 year of Lupron, and Zytiga. So, now Im looking at 2 more years of Lupron (FML), and 1 more year of Zytiga. MO and RO both said to follow STAMPEDE trial. I want to follow SSPORT trial!! Odd thing, my Testosterone yesterday was 4

Need advice.
Need advice. I had prostectomy in February of 2020, then radiation therapy a year later as PSA rose. Now PSA is 1.23 and the oncologist now is recommending beginning Lupron injections. Would welcome any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks.

How long to Castrate Resistance: ADT+/- ARSI
Further discussion on details of EMBARK study on another HU forum bears restating here (IMO). For high risk BCR (and beyond) ADT combined with ARSI (in this case enzalutamide) is clearly superior to either monotherapy. However, development of castrate resistance between ADT + Enza vs. Enz monotherapy

Any difference between 6 month lupron or 6 month elegard injection?
Hi, I’m currently on 3 month lupron injection and doing well with PSA of >0.01 and asked my doctor if there is a 6 month injection. I’ve asked twice and twice he sent a prescription for Elegard instead of Lupron. Should I stay on Lupron? Is there any difference between the two?

Update
Just got my blood test results: Testo less 0.1 ng/ML and PSA still undetectable. Tomorrow I’ll receive my next 3-month Lupron shot, which will finalize my 24-month ADT after prostate bed and whole pelvic radiation. In the meantime I also had lymphoma and received four R-CHOP chemo cycles, two cycles

Long time reader / first time poster…
Hello all, Been on here for quite some time reading about other men’s stories but have yet to get in the trenches until now. Not sure why; maybe just reluctance to accept my situation, even though my “situation” has fully accepted me. It’s been a bumpy road. PSA 12.5 at diagnosis 11/2019. Been checking

Fluoxetine (Prozac) to help with extreme hot flash/sweats
I am currently on Lupron 3 month shot and Zitiga treatment, began this past July. I am experiencing very extreme hot flashes and severe sweats. It was suggested that Fluoxetine (Prozac) might help. Does anyone have any experience, effectiveness, side effects to share using Fluoxetine for this purpose

EMBARK Study: ADT vs Enzalutamide +/- ADT
Results of the EMBARK study was published this week (10/19/23) in NEJM. It compared high risk BCR PCa treated in 3 groups: Lupron ADT alone. Enzalutamide plus ADT. And Enzalutamide monotherapy. 5 year follow up for metastasis free survival. Results below. Interesting that Enza monotherapy (No ADT) was

Would I be on thin ice if I tried adaptive ADT this soon?
After 6 weeks on Lupron and 9 days on abiraterone, my PSA was .1, and my testosterone was <1. This is within the criteria being used to start people on adaptive in this MCSPC Moffitt study with Jingsong Yang - (he says I can just follow the protocol without being in the study)https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
