Broken scales. Weight loss is now in question
Hello. I've had a suspicion that my scales have been broken for a while now, made stronger when my cat dropped her carrier box on them. The scales claim I've lost 3lbs in less than 24 hours. I know my body and know this is not accurate so its time to invest in some new scales, I'm just hoping that what

There is, and always will be debates about the terminology sometimes used on this forum. I think it is sometimes easy for folk to forget that the primary purpose of the forum is to help AF patients to understand their condition better and how best to cope with their symptoms. Scapular dyskinesis post bypass
Hi, After having my heart bypass in Feb and having back and shoulder pain since it was diagnosed today as Scapular dyskinesis. Apparently it's quite common after chest surgery and I have been prescribed physio and acupuncture. Has anyone here had this issue and how long did it take to resolve? I find

Hello all, did anyone else receive one of these letters recently? I had my first open heart surgery 2 years ago and now this arrives from the hospital... Some problem with the heating/cooling of blood during bypass... Has anyone had this or suffered from this as a result of open heart surgery?? Thanks

GP Cherry picking their patients
Has anyone else had problems with the GP health provider being slow or awkward when it comes to the treatment of those of us with Heart Failure. Maybe I have been particularly unlucky but I have had one spend 10 years GP treating me for Asthma when I really had Heart Failure. My current Gp service has

10 months post ablation
For the last 2 months I've been in constant touch with arrhythmia nurses as I've been having symptoms of what seemed like AF again together with lots of ectopics. They have been very thorough, had me in to hospital and attached to ecg for 25 minutes but heart mostly behaved! As symptoms continued they

Elevated Toponin Levels post Ablation?
Hello All, I ended up in Urgent Care at the weekend with chest pains which I thought were down to Muscular strain but felt I should check it out. I had the usual checks but they also checked Troponin levels twice (an indicator for Heart attacks). These came out high at 28 on both occasions. They

Take meds on an empty stomach, or take with food, or ?
I've spoken with many pharmacists and my electrophysiologist as well, and I'm puzzled because they say the same or different things! If anyone can ring in on what *might* work best, I'd appreciate it. I take the metoprolol extended release once a day in the morning. I take the flecainide twice a day

Afib in the evening
Hi All, I’m new here and don’t know much about Afib but could do with some help. I had a heart attack in March this year and 1 stent fitted which has been fine. A few twinges here and there but all in all I am now healthier than I have been for years. I eat well, exercise daily and am at my perfect BMI

Covid anxiety or heart attack
Lately, everyone I’m working with is getting infected with covid. I’m a phlebotomist and i’m constantly interacting with people. I just found out my coworker has covid and I did her nasal swab. We were outside, both wearing masks, and she did not cough or sneeze as I was doing it. We had no further contact

Anyone else been microchipped with a loop recorder ECG ?
I had mine fitted last Saturday. Just healed over, with one stitch, after they injected it in to my chest. Getting used to the idea of it slowly.... It sends data to the hospital every night by satellite and I can use a bleep key to get a reading whenever I get symptoms of chest pain or palpitations

B12 deficiency
B12 deficiency I have to inject daily for B12 deficiency. All self diagnosed (started injecting in 2013 with the help of the Pe rnicious Anemia Society). I have recently heard the term functional B12 deficiency. Does anyone have any information on this as it seems I have this form of B12D.
