Thriving with Congestive Heart Failure and a Left Ventricular Assist Device as I await a Heart Transplant.

Hi all- I am a retired dental surgeon with Congestive Heart Failure. I currently have a Left Ventricular Assist Device and am hoping for a call for a heart transplant in the next few weeks. I will be glad to share my experiences over the past twenty years with any of you. I have had 2 aortic valve replacement surgeries, a mitral valve repair, an ICD and 2 aborted heart transplants in addition to the LVAD surgery. I am very well informed about Congestive Heart Failure and donor/recipient issues as well as having recovered stunningly from my past surgeries. I work full time at home in a remote job and I am able to golf 18 holes on a regular basis (twice per week).

I would be happy to converse anytime!

Thank you for your cordial welcome- Always

My goodness what a read, you really are the heart guy! What resilience you have, simply amazing. I wish you the very best and when you get your new heart a very good recovery. We have a few people on the forum who have had transplants, or are waiting, and I am sure they will be along to give you words of encouragement.

Realise you are in the States and things are done a bit different to here in the U.K. but at the end of the day we all have the same hearts😂

Best wishes Pauline
