Happy 80th birthday Richard Clifford!
🧡 Richard lost his beloved wife Karen Clifford (the ‘KC’ in Skcin) to
melanoma
in 2005 - it was of course a devastating time for all our family, but Richard turned his grief into positivity and was determined to prevent such suffering for others - and a matter of months later Skcin was born.

When does a mole spell melanoma!
WHEN DOES A MOLE SPELL
MELANOMA
?Superficial spreading
melanoma
is the most common form of
melanoma
which accounts for around 70% of cases. It can arise from a seemingly, normal or healthy pre-existing mole or freckle, but the majority appear as a new mole.Â

Happy Mother’s Day!
When my mum passed from
melanoma
on New Year’s Eve 2005, I thought my world had ended. But, over time I began to realise that her passing made way for a hugely important job - one that needed serious attention, focus and an immense amount of passion, dedication and tenacity.

One lady had had a
melanoma
removed very close to her eye and now her vision was really bad, something to do with the nerves being damaged. Another man said that his eyes watered more after his surgery. There was a discussion about summer and what was best to wear.

The KC in Skcin
17 years ago today we said our final farewell to our beautiful mother, best friend, devoted wife and grandmother Karen Clifford (the KC in SKCIN) following her courageous battle to
melanoma
. The devastation caused by her loss, made us determined to ensure her untimely death was not in vain.

flu shot and immunotherapy
Hello All, My husband has
melanoma
and is currently on immunotherapy. It was recommended that he get a flu shot but I read it could cause some adverse effects. Does anyone have some information on this or has had a flu shot while on immunotherapy? Thanks so much.

Good news about methotrexate
Ref: JAMA Dermatol doi:10.1001/jamadermatol.2022.3337 This doesn't mean that you should ignore anything that possibly looks like a
melanoma
, of course! - just that you don't have an increased risk.
